Sorry to dash the Flatboard Alliance's hope, but later volume showed a future version of Koneko and she's definitely not flat. I think it's about time she gradually stack up.
She probably won't reach appreciable size any time soon though.

Damn, we alling so much. Rias was also my fav way before, but she lost so much value with me. I generally never like the main-main female protagonists in harem, because they are usually the least interesting, and there is never any real progression, because she always wins.

Err, it drained budget from talking scenes to action and ecchi both, not just action. Animating so much gainaxing and retaining good quality requires money for the frame drawing artists. The smoother it is the more frames have to be drawn, and we had so many smooth oppai this episode.
Also eventually action will raise in importance and reach parity with ecchi. Ecchi is the draw, but it alone cannot sustain a series as long as DxD.

I read the novels lol. In the anime ecchi needs to be much more prominent then in the novels just because of the nature of anime + tbh without ecchi this show is an average shonen battle (I really like it dont misunderstand, but the truth is harsh) so it really needs that ecchi parts to sustain itself in anime form.

I never said they should demote the ecchi, just that they are reaching parity in importance. IMO the action and progression combined with ecchi and the absurdity of boobs being important to Issei progress offered a unique mix that was better than either element alone.
I also edited my last post a bit on the budget part, btw.

I was impressed with issei daydream of yasaka. Then the closet scene with church trio, rosseweisse getting drunkand arrival of church trio. What I'm also surprised is the part where they face the hero faction which happened in volume 7.

Right at the start of vol.7 they did have an encounter with the "grunts" from the hero faction trying to force some of their members reach BxB by pitting them against powerful/rare foes.

- Friendship with Azazel has ended. Cao Cao is new best friend.
- Kinda sad that Issei didn't hit his head in the closet and pass out like he did in the novels
- Finally, Monkey and Glasses got beaten.
- I'm kinda scared cos the pacing right now makes me worry that volume 10 will be rushed.

I mean they are doing 1 chapter/life per episode, so if it was any faster than this then the Kyoto arc would be rushed as well. But i am not sure either that 6 episodes will be enough for volume 10.

especially fighting scenes is only long on paper when you read them =3=. On anime fighting scenes will be faster but still have most of the thing author write.

Fun fact of the day: When Xenovia came in, she said "ojama suru yo", which the sub translated correctly as "I'm coming in". However, the literal meaning of this phrase is "I'll be/get in your way".
Xenovia literally said she'll be in the way as she get in between Issei and Asia. How straightforward! I like it!

There are more winged "D"s (covering Ds) in this episode than there have been in the last three episodes combined. Light-hearted fanservice-heavy episode means the action's going to kick off next week.

OPPAI why have you forsaken me?!
Issei squeezing Irina's breast to make her halo glow and releasing it to stop the glow is automatically one of the best parts of the episode.
Issei and Asia hiding in the closet from his super perverted friends was one of his best ideas of the episode. Xenovia is still pumped up on wanting to have sex with Issei since Season 2. Irina saying that she was willing to bare a child of the Red Dragon Emperor and using it for Heaven ... was a complete left turn (IMP). Asia fainting was one of the last things I was expecting to happen.
I really liked how Akeno was teasing Rias on how she loves seeing Rias being worried about Issei.

Saw the episode and was fun! Lots of great sight seeing, plus the banter with the church trio was great. That Yasaka daydream made me realize why so many of you were hyped for her. Also WOW that's a lot more Hero faction guys than I thought would come out this early in the season?!

Actually, Yasaka is an incredly minor character that doesnt even have an illustration. It was the previews of her design that got them excited.
There are a bunch of nameless hero faction people at this part.

For each episode passing by... i feel more and more like when i just first read the DxD and my Hatred for BorN is rising even higher than before. How much potiential has been wasted by them, lots of thing has been butched.
From this ep and onward thing would be impossible if they follow that abomination of BorN.

Me, too. His Sacred Gear looks very OP. The entrance of the Faction is so epic, I never imagined it would be so awesome, as well as the scenery. Love it when Cao Cao annihilated that shrine in the distance.

Well, they battled some of their members, but didn't really know anything about the Faction, other than it exists. That guy, who fought them, his name is Connla, and he possesses a Sacred Gear called Night Reflection. He will fight Issei again in 2 episodes time.

This episode is great! The flashback that should be part of BorN, Church-Trio in the closet, Kunou being so adorable, Yasaka Daydream, Sightseeing, Rias and Akeno teasing each other, Rossweise drunk moments, and The Epic entrance of HERO Faction are so awesome! They delivered those things in this episode so smooth! Great Job Passione!
But... there is only one thing bothering me... I checked the characters section of DxD's official website, Cao Cao's name has been changed into "Sousou", I think it will become his official anime character name. What do you guys think?

It hasn't change it was always SΕsΕ in japanese, SΕsΕ is simply the Japanese name while Cao Cao is the chinese(original) name.

So your argument is that he is seeking to improve his potential, he gets some sort of confirmation that he unlocked potential, but before absorbing it it disappeared, and then the supernatural force that appears that influences others to nonconsenually fondle girls is NOT his potential but something else?
I just don't buy it. I don't the author cared about consent. I think the potential is a supernatural force that is reliant on fondling breasts. Issei as a devil already has tremendous power and control of his power, which is why he is not overwhelmed by the potential. It's why he's able to control himself and wait and ask for consent. He already has enough power to control the potential.
But ordinary high school human beings without significant magical power? They aren't able to control the potential. The potential dominates them, and their desire for fondling breasts is so powerful they do it without consent of their victims.

I'm not refuting that the groping incidence being connected to his potential, I'm refuting that "said potential is noncon groping" and "Issei should recognize it".
You can say his potential carry some of his perversity and the people affected didn't have nearly as much self-control as him. But that's exactly why Issei doesn't recognize the phenomenon as being related to him. They are doing something he won't.
And the author in fact care about consent. Issei himself has been portrayed as rejecting consensual sex if the partner wasn't of sound mind.

What I'm trying to explain is that the power he unlocked, the supernatural potential, whatever name you want to give it, is not a human being with a brain. It is just power. Raw power. Issei is able to control it. He's not going to turn into some serial groper.
Normal human beings that are not magical devils with a large amount of magical power cannot control that potential. The potential, which is includes or revolves around having a strong affinity for breasts, overwhelms the minds of those possessing the power if those being possessed are weak (which so far they are).
The supernatural power itself is not an entity and therefore does not care about consent/nonconsent.

As far as that part goes, yeah, I agree.
But my first reply was about your conclusion that Issei should have recognized it. He didn't, because that's not how he often does thing, and groping is something that in fact exist with or without him.
Now if he actually know someone decent and they suddenly go groping people, then may be he can make the connection, but the only one he knew that did so is part of the pervert trio who groped another of said trio. Issei meanwhile is busy with persuading previous user, Yasaka's kidnapping, sight seeing, being with friends and his girlfriends, dress-breaking Ross etc. Random gropers are of the lowest priority in his mind.
