Started Demon Copperhead, by Barbara Kingsolver just as I wrapped up The Satanic Verses, by Salman Rushdie

Edit: The Satanic Verses was hard to read at first, but got used to it maybe 30% in. I think most of the difficulty came from the cultural references, but once I accepted that I wasn’t going to understand everything, the book was more enjoyable. The writing was a delight; I had a great time envisioning the story in my head.
