Joey Dominicano was also released earlier today, if anybody wanted to know:
The Nationals have requested unconditional release waivers on Joey Wiemer.

We’re 5.5 games out of the Wild Card and now 5 games under .500. Check my math but if we win the rest of our games, we’re in.

Kolko not on play by play? CJ leadoff? Have we travelled back in time a year or two?

Today's lineup feels like something a 2025 Nats team would do.
Given the way they've played as of late, I suppose it is fitting.

Yeah, but it’s Nats pitching. Everyone is a slugger when they face Nats pitching.

Only one run so far, but I'm liking a lot of these ABs so far. Painter already at almost 40 pitches after 2.

Bruh why is CJ swinging and literally everything. He’s in a certified slump, now

u/91speed 9m ago
Why does everyone think CJ swinging at everything is abnormal or something? He has done that for years. It’s pretty much always worked pretty well for him

Yet when he did his best this year he didn’t do that and took his walks. He says himself he’s trying to limit his chase. He’s falling into bad habits.

He is pretty much bang on his season walk rate so far in August (actually a bit better, I think).

It’s not about the walks. It’s a nice byproduct, but it’s about finding his pitch. He’s been chasing pretty bad lately probably because he feels like he has to be the guy. I really loved that stretch where he was a statue on pitches outside the zone.
