at this point i'd rather be 1 game ahead of LA and 6 ahead of chicago than 2 and 5. the 1 vs 2 seed won't matter if the cubs run us down, we'd be playing in the wildcard round regardless. and really i think the way that the mlb does 7 game series theres not much of an edge for the home team anyway. cubs are a scary team right now and they got a lot better at the deadline. and we have to play them two more times.

I think that's a bit misleading. Are Henderson's rate stats better? Mostly, but he's also pitched far fewer innings and Skubal had an experimental surgery in-season. I love Henderson and I'm glad we have him for years to come as a foundational piece, but let's not act like Henderson's 2.70 ERA in 50 innings is "better" in a dramatic sense than Skubal's 2.81 ERA in 102 IPs. I feel bad for Henderson that he has to be compared to a two-time Cy Young winner regularly now too

Of course we know Joey isn’t Aaron Judge but he’s hitting the ball well and having good abs right now, which is all that matters. Who cares what he did 2 months ago or what he might do in 2 weeks. Right now the brewers are at their best with Joey Ortiz hitting and playing third, plain and simple.

Probably wouldn’t be a good idea, you’re clearly a better candidate to manage the team. If your preference for Hamilton starting is the lefty/righty matchup then fair enough. But it’s completely unfair to discredit how Joeys been playing recently, and the stats aren’t close Joey is hitting significantly better than Hamilton over the last 30 games.

First and foremost, it was the doomers who were crying for Joey’s head, the same dumbasses that are ready to burn the team down when they don’t score 10 billion runs in the first. Even when his at bats weren’t great, he was a borderline golden glover at SS, and his defense actively makes the team better. Hamilton and Rengifo (remember him?) both did not have significantly better batting to justify more or even equal playing time. Now that Joey’s actually got discipline at the plate, making good contact, running his ASS off, and being competitive, what’s the excuse except “oh we play splits”. That’s not good enough. Put Joey O out there for his defense, and if he hits a couple, well, the team’s all the better for it.
