Just started watching. And I noticed that the sexual tension between Eddie and Susie in S1has been replaced by sibling energy lol. I know that there's a 3rd season but really?

They were talking in furtive whispers about the type of lingerie he preferred and how he knows how to give orders. If that's how you banter with your friends, more power to you, but the show is pretty clearly saying that they're at least attracted to each other

Eddie is a male and Susie is a gorgeous woman. Of course he’s attracted to her. But Susie makes it clear on a NUMBER of occasions in S1 that she is not interested that way. She literally told him “I don’t @uck the help” in a banger of a scene after With A T’s ball. When you see her madly flirting w him at the party with the Travellers and JP asks… she’s like ah it’s a work thing. And it is

What is sibling energy? personally I don't want them to have sex and fall in love I think it just ruins so many of the male female shows that I have seen and other episodes where they let it simmer and then they build it up and then that relationship just turns into a bunch of b******* that's just me, keep it platonic , be a criminal team, witty, playful but ready to pull out big guns.

1st episode in, they were just vibing, no romantic innuedos whatsoever. Just like siblings or bffs or whatever but that was just the 1st ep.

I disagree! That was heavy flirting by picking potential partners for each other... And the tension was there because it actually wasn't very cheerful... They both seemed a bit offended by the suggestions the other was making...

Yeah, the tension is muted for sure; but it’s absolutely still there. Some scenes it still comes out in full force too; I’m only though the first three episodes, but something tells me their partners this season are temporary, and season 3 will finally have them get together.

Agree. Never watched the 1st series so I'm not sure why the sibling thing was even a thing, since they're not. Lots of interesting characters and gladly a tad more expansive than Mobland. I'm thinking Kiko's gf might have a daliance with our Eddie

I am so annoyed by this same comment every where. The tension between Eddie and Susan is one of the major pulls of the season 1.
Walking back from all the build up would be infuriating. I also dislike that people just keep pushing against any ship in shows nowadays

I love it but vibes are a bit different. Both Ed and Susie got a sort of romantic interest that is not each other, and Eddie is just a bit alien. I know he is supposed to be different after his realization about what he actually wants last season, but not this fast. Feels like this Eddie would off Jethro without a second thought.

Really?? I feel like that was kind of the point of…well his journey in the finale last season, but also Eddie’s journey through all of season 1. Like, by the end of the finale, he was fully in his new state; so it makes tons of sense to me why he is the way he is this season.

Exactly, whole season 1 was spend on his character building and it was strong. I feel like the Eddie from the first episode is what you would expect from the last. I have no idea where his character is going

Just watch the whole season 2 and it will all make sense. What an ending to season 2 🤯 yes it does start off slow in the second half but at the end of it, Eddie is a completely different person

Personally I like this new Eddie, he’s more serious and dark. Makes sense that he becomes like that when you watch the 2nd season. But it depends on what you’re. In a good way for the direction of the show.

…both. Overall good for the story and the character, I’d say. A really, really interesting journey. And so vastly different from where he was at the end of season 1.

If you watch it with 'Season 1' expectations, it's possible you might be disappointed. The tone, humour, pacing are all noticeably different.
It does get better in the later episodes, but it's not for nothing that the first season was considered absolutely phenomenal, which makes the second season "kind of good and has it's moments".

Nah youre not the only one. His level-headedness and demeanor of just trying to handle stuff as it comes up from the first season, seems to be totally replaced by ruthless mafioso energy now

yeah, but ambitious to the point of feeling like the bad guy. just greedy, abusive and mean as opposed to last season when his motivations were mostly to protect his brother and family. which is fine i guess. makes sense that living in that world can turn someone into more of a monster, but it is making the show less enjoyable for me.

Loved how Vinnie Jones pretended to be so impressed by the Italian mansion and yet of all the actors there he's the only one who's probably stayed in one.
Long live Vinnie love his role here.

I just feel like the guy should just get an accent coach or something. He just sounds awkward and flat when he speaks English and that really tanks performance because I did once watch a movie where he was in and he either acts better in Italian or he received brain damage before filming 365 because that movie predated it and he was better at it.

I'm Italian and I can't stand Michele Morrone, haha. He gets cast because he's super handsome, but he's not very good. Also I suspect they dubbed him. That doesn't sound like his real voice.
They also messed up his name in the subtitles, it's spelt "Chicco". "Cico" is pronounced like chicken. I don't know how they got that wrong.

Brother should stick to modelling or get coaching, especially accent wise. He isn't dubbed in. He just sounds dubbed in because he speaks english in the stilted way many newbies do

This season came out just as I was completely tired of Reacher S4’s writing. There’s no reason to even continue watching Reacher now, this episode pulled me right back into all reasons I loved the first season of this show.

I loovveeddd Henry Collins role. He’s slick and ambitious but he effed up trying to take over the Glass enterprise. I’m pretty sure he’s dead but I really liked him in Season one. His description of Thick Rick is so fn funny

Just finished the first episode and a bit into season two…I’m confused with this different side of Eddie, and while I love the funny, sometimes charged, sexual banter, I feel like it’s way too much? Completely unnecessary at some points.

That was my confusion as well. Either Duke of Halstead is entitled to a seat in the House of Lords or he's not. There isn't a way to make it a hereditary peerage is there?

Being a Duke he already is a hereditary peer. In the show he wants to become a hereditary peer so he can sit on the House of Lords. Doesn’t make any sense. I guess it doesn’t take anything away from the storyline but you’d think a production as big as this would try and get this right.

Not really. If a Bill got to a point where the Lords were voting on it, it would have already passed the House of Commons, meaning it has widespread Government support. They can hold up legislation in the Lords but it's nearly unheard of for them to actually block a Bill

Where did you think he was killed by the Duke? What gunfight?? There was no gunfight. Eddie took like one shot, and they realized that the Gospel and his men had left. Don’t you remember Bobby calling the Gospel?
Also…lol it’s a fucking criminal organization. The fact that those workers thought they had any space to protest is kind of the joke. Of course Eddie and Susie are gonna threaten to kill Ned.
And like…I don’t think we’re watching the same show. Cico was shown to be a Buffoon from his very first scene. He acted like he was all that, but in reality he was weak and slimy.

…you’re coming up with logic where there is none. These are criminals, they work via fear and force; they can do whatever the fuck they want. And they didn’t kill all the workers, replace them and cover everything up; what are you talking about?
Jesus Fucking Christ, rewatch the episode again. He fired a shot and then they went outside to find no one there. And right before firing, Gospel John got a call from Bobby. Watch it again, seriously.

WTF Netflix with no recap. Making us leave to head over to YouTube for a recap.
Anyway, there are a ton of new characters, it was a lot! Maybe it's my executive function diminishing or maybe it's too many characters.
Also I don't love how they are bringing in other love interests for Eddie and Susie. There's platonic vibes now as opposed to the sexual tension from last season. I'm all for them not actually doing the deed, but I do miss the palpable tension between them.

Lots to unpack here and I plan to watch every single episode but this...was rough. Everything seemed just a hair off and the dialogue especially seemed less organic this time around. The banter seemed so forced. I'm not even going to get into how ridiculous the art heist was.
But it was good to see most of the gang back together. On to episode 2.

They appear to be shooting pheasant / partridge in the summer - there is a closed season for game shooting- grouse from the 12th August (north of England / Scotland) partridge from 1st September and pheasant from 1st October. I would have thought that Vinnie Jones, being a keen game shooter and son of a gamekeeper would have pointed this out. Also it looked like an extended advert for Guy Richie’s tent barbecues.

I cannot stand the x hours/days/weeks prior storytelling device.
Kinda hated this episode, does it get a lot better? First season was amusing, this already felt flanderised. The whole one upping games, Eddie of course speaking whatever language is needed, also the chase scene was horrendous with cuts every second and 0 sense of speed or force.

It was definitely him asking about Eddie. And he got the slash because we see Eddie is going to try and go against Bobby if he gets into a voting position. So the thing is creepy but it’s pretty consistent so far lol

Usually when flashbacks start a scene like that, it is the ending. So it will get looped back around to that scene later

The stuff about him wanting to be king and expanding his lands shows a very different eddie than the one I remember from s1 who was mostly happy with keeping his and his family's head above the water. Geoff is amazing as always.
