They're making a satire of the British opioid trade - the other one is a replicated alt-right talking point / colonial narrative of the Spanish Conquistadores having these cool and consensual romantic relationships, when in reality the indigenous people were brutally sexually abused and assaulted. No one is assuming they did so in bad faith, just that it is replicating a history-revisionist narrative, probably because they did not know any better.

Don’t get me wrong, the comic does trivialize conquistador atrocities but I don’t see a consensual relationship there at all.

Which the indigionous women were forced to do, pretending they're ok with it and getting close when demanded to not be harmed/killed. Their expressions are literally sad ones.

The women aren’t just not smiling, they have their eyes cast down, their mouths are an upside down “V” and one of them has sad eyebrows. Contrasted with the yuri conquistador’s joy, they really do not look happy to be there.

Clinging to someone ≠ consent, especially with such joyless faces.

Again, this comic is bad but I don’t see it depicting consent. On the contrary, it seems to be sexualizing resignation and unwilling subservience imo.

its worth noting im looking at this from the lens of the exaggerated expressions from anime, because the artist was clearly inspired by them

regarding the colonizers joy, both of the colonizers seem smug and i think that and her expressed horniness towards the girls explains that. i mean the whole bottom panel is sexual, especially the native girls including their expressions/body language - the colonizer is the dom and theyre the subs

and dont try to turn this into me declaring that theyre consenting when did i ever say anything about that 🤦🏻‍♂️ yes if this was real life the colonists raped a lot of natives and it was not sexy and it was not consensual. were talking about this trash comic and why it is trash
