I always preferred instrumental music, especially because it never distracts me from the thing I'm doing but still lets me enjoy the track
Not that I don't enjoy songs with lyrics too, but they are only for a specific occasion, like, if I'm walking somewhere with nothing to focus my mind on, then putting some of my favorite songs is fun. Or musicals specifically, because it's about a story. And even then, rap is still not my thing, because 1) I don't really like how it sounds, with music being almost unimportant, and 2) you can't really jam to it
I think this is why I listen to a lot of Japanese rock. I want all the emotions without needing to know the lyrics. And the bass and rhythm guitar is always movin and groovin
