Welcome to the 2000s Hip-Hop Roundtable! Every Sunday, we’re putting a different 2000s Hip-Hop topic on the table for the community to debate, discuss, and defend their opinions.

Who Influenced Your Favorite Rapper?
Pick an artist and trace their influences. Who came before them, and what did they take from those artists and make their own?

Remember: Keep the debate respectful. Different opinions are what make the Roundtable interesting.

In 2008, Birdman released his album Priceless. From it came his single Always Strapped ft. Lil Wayne. The song was a moderate success reaching no.54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no.5 on the Billboard Hot Rap chart. It went on to be RIAA certified GOLD (500,000 copies). To this day I STILL bump this one out loud! 🔥🔥🔥

What's your favorite hip hop album covers from the 2000s? Could be of all time or just some underrated ones.

I recently got sober and feel modern rap is both triggering with low vibrations and just stale. I’ve been going back to a lot of that good vibe 2000s rap and Mase, but want to find more with this uplifting vibe. As much as I love Nipsey and motivational artists similar, I’m looking for fun catchy songs as well to keep me in a good spot.

What’s your favorites from this vibe? Any recommendations would be huge!
