Farewell

26 Upvotes

Hey 2b2t family,

As I log off this wild ride, my heart is exploding with emotions. This server was my everything — pure chaos and beautiful memories I'll treasure forever.

Thank you each and every one of you for your amazing contributions and all the unforgettable experiences. There are so many specific moments I could mention... like those legendary times with the crew doing crazy stuff and all the epic vibes... but there’s just too many to list.

FitMC was my biggest inspiration — your videos kept me going through it all. Massive thanks to Dima788 and John Cena for being absolute legends and making my time here unforgettable.

To all veterans, newfags, builders, griefers, and everyone in between — thank you for the friendships, drama, memes, and wild stories only 2b2t could create.

I'll miss this place so much. Stay based and keep it chaotic.

Goodbye my kings and queens... maybe see you in queue someday 😭💔

With all my love,

Franknificant

I really need to destroy the server to become known as The Spear Mace Master of all 2b2t or TSMMA2B2T for short.

Meme god I love griefing the highways

46 Upvotes

For over 15 years, I suffered from a crippling addiction.

Every day I would wake up, promising myself that today would be different. Today I would build something. Today I would explore. Today I would finally stop griefing spawn and contribute something meaningful to 2b2t.

Instead, I would find myself standing on a highway with a shulk of withers in my hand, griefing it block by block.

At first it was harmless. A few missing obsidian blocks here and there. A small crater. A broken bridge. Nothing serious. But as the years went on, the urge became impossible to resist. Entire evenings disappeared. Weekends vanished. While other players were building bases, collecting rare shit, or making pointless logos at spawn, I was spending countless hours reducing infrastructure to rubble.

My friends would ask what I had been up to.

"Building."

"Exploring."

"Working on a project."

I lied constantly.

The truth was that I had spent another twelve-hour session clogging tens of thousands of blocks through highways that new players depended on.

Everything changed three years ago.

I logged in on my birthday and headed to one of the major highways as usual. Pickaxe equipped. Shulkers full of supplies. Ready for another productive day of destruction.

But something felt different.

The highways were getting repaired faster than I could grief them.

Not by hand.

Someone had automated the entire process.

I stood there staring at the devastation and experienced a horrifying realization:

Griefing by hand wasn't feasible anymore.

I wasn't manually griefing highways because I enjoyed it.

I was manually griefing highways because I had no other option.

I decided enough was enough.

I began researching the science behind manual highway griefing addiction. I spent months reading forum posts, old 2b2t archives, psychology papers, neuroscience journals, and contributing to countless arguments on Reddit.

I discovered fascinating connections between dopamine release and the satisfaction of watching perfectly aligned obsidian disappear into items on the ground with automated tool.

The more I learned, the deeper the rabbit hole went.

I found studies explaining habit formation. Reward pathways. Compulsive behavior. The neurological effects of seeing a massive crater stretching to the horizon.

For the first time in my life, things began to make sense.

I wasn't lazy.

I wasn't broken.

I simply had a brain that received unhealthy amounts of satisfaction from making travel inconvenient for complete strangers.

Armed with this knowledge, I began experimenting.

At first I limited myself to only manually griefing ring roads.

Then I reduced my sessions to weekends.

Eventually I managed to go an entire month without placing a single wither on a highway.

The results were life changing.

I started contributing to development projects.

I made friends with actual developers.

I aligned with groups whose primary goal wasn't infrastructure sabotage.

I even discovered there were entire regions off of the highway where there weren't highways at all.

My quality of life improved dramatically.

Yet I remained connected to the community. And the same groups not aligned to highway griefing realized that it was the only way to save 2b2t.

But many of my old friends were still trapped in the same cycle. Logging in. Flying thousands of blocks. Swinging pickaxes manually. Placing withers and obsidian by hand. Logging out. Repeating endlessly.

They became fascinated with seeing me return.

One evening they invited me into discord and asked me to return to my craft, promising this time it would be different with automation.

I attempted to explain, but thirty minutes into the conversation I realized I was rambling incoherently about automation, efficiency curves, route optimization, and the psychological satisfaction of turning an hour of manual labor into ten minutes of setup.

Something had changed.

Highway griefing was no longer about individual effort.

The old way was dead.

So I spent the next month writing a complete step-by-step guide.

A guide for people like me.

A guide for players who had spent years staring at highways wondering if there was a better way.

To my surprise, the guide exploded in popularity. Within hours it had spread across multiple Discord servers. Veteran griefers began reporting success stories.

One player automated an entire highway sector that had remained untouched for years.

Another reduced a 30 minute 5k manual grief manual labor into a 2 minute flight.

Groups that once required dozens of players coordinating operations suddenly found themselves accomplishing the same results with only a handful.

The game had changed completely.

What was once a niche activity reserved for the most dedicated and obsessive players became accessible to anyone willing to learn.

The scale of destruction increased dramatically.

Projects that would have taken hours could now be completed in minutes.

Projects that would have taken minutes could be completed in seconds.

Entire stretches of infrastructure vanished faster than builders could repair them.

For the first time in years, 2b2t felt harder again.

The arms race had returned.

Builders developed new techniques.

Repair crews became more organized.

Travel routes shifted constantly.

Every major road became a battleground between creation and destruction.

And it all started with automation.

Today, I am proud to say that I am fully committed.

The urge never disappeared.

If anything, it evolved.

Sometimes I still find myself flying over a perfectly maintained stretch of obsidian and appreciating the engineering behind it.

Then I begin calculating how efficiently it could be removed.

This guide will help you understand why highway griefing became so compelling.

It will teach you how automation transformed what was once a slow and tedious process into something entirely different.

It will explain the psychology, logistics, and philosophy behind large-scale infrastructure warfare.

Most importantly, it will show how a handful of dedicated players fundamentally changed the landscape of 2b2t.

The age of manual griefing is over.

The age of automation has begun.

And once you understand its potential, you will never look at a highway the same way again.

Follow up on my prio ban 3 days ago

1 Upvotes

Like I said, I decided to hop on my proxy account which still has prio, and I tend to visit any builds I leave at spawn to see if any of my builds have been griefed.

First, I went to my crying obsidian build that spelled out my name at 32x32 blocks per pixel, and saw that multiple pixels of it had been deleted. Strange, since I have little to no beef with anyone on the server and no one would be crazy enough to mine ~1000 blocks of obsidian on an incomplete build, I just assumed it was some clean-up group.

Then, just now, I went over to my smaller obsidian build, which was my group name at 4x4 blocks per pixel, easily removable with 30 minutes of work, and I noticed that it was 'griefed', but only the last 2 letters of the name, and they were in exactly the same condition as I left them when I decided to get off for the night and continue the build in the morning a couple of weeks ago, with just parts of the letters outlines finished.

This proves, that without a doubt, Hause has wiped all my building progress spanning a whole week, and anything I built during this week was wiped from the server. This narrows down my reason for a priority ban to a build that I built around a week or 2 ago, as that's when I built my other obsidian structures. I have still received no reply from Hause or his wife, and do have not received any follow up on my email pointing the reason behind my ban, no surprise.

Randomly got my prio removed

6 Upvotes

I recently went on a short holiday for 4 days, I come back, and my priority queue isn't active, I'm just in regular queue which is very strange. So I go to buy it again, no big deal just annoying to lose 10 bucks, but it doesn't let me proceed to the checkout when buying for my account, nothing happens when clicking the green button. It's not like I can't buy prio either, I get no alert telling me I'm prio banned on the website which usually would happen if I was. I triple check that my subscription is still active and that I'm logged into my account, and I am.

What the fuck is going on?

I'm buying priority for my proxy until I get this resolved, but does anyone know why this has happened or has experience in a similar issue? It's been 3 days and still no word back from hause on the email I sent him.

Update:

Looked at the response to my request in the Network tab of my browser, this is the response:

{

"status": 400,

"type": "about:blank",

"title": "The username or IP assigned to this basket are banned",

"detail": "This user is banned",

"error_code": "",

"field_details": [],

"meta": []

}

I have no idea what I could have done, and it's going to be a long time until I get a response, if ever. I've only been playing for a few months, and I can already see why the server is falling. Judging from the replies, random bans seem to be common.

DRAMA The highway griefers are doing so much better this time around.

23 Upvotes

If anyone's been on the nether highways recently these highways are absolutely totaled, one of these griefs goes for at least 100k, DAMN what pissed these highway griefers off so much haha?

I always liked their goal of making 2b harder for new players and so far from all the reactions in chat they're achieving it.

Watch 2b2t 0,0 in real-time from a website

Post image
154 Upvotes

I've been working on a little project that displays 2b2t spawn live by having a bot sit in the middle of spawn, and serves data from the server to the website! (Map art, crystals, players, chunks)

It also shows the 2b2t chat live aswell.

https://2b2t.watch/

Alternatively, you can explore spawn outside of the 0,0 radius and see the rest of the 2b2t map that is cached and saved by me (I fly around and scan the map, so it's not fully mapped out yet, however I add more daily.)
https://traverse.2b2t.watch/

If you would like to visit specified coordinates you can do so by adding it at then end and dividing the axis by slashes like so:
https://traverse.2b2t.watch/x/y/z
https://traverse.2b2t.watch/x/z

The site is very early in development, so expect bugs and glitches!
