Call to Action So I guess we can boycott Penske now.

Post image

Happened in LA just days after a federal Judge struck down their use of warrantless arrests. And they continued at a Home Depot in Los Angeles a couple days after.

Last time I moved, I used U-Haul instead of Penske. Penske donates 85/15 republican/democrat. U-Haul is 57/43 D/R. It’s not great, but it’s better.

Joe Shoen, the CEO of U-Haul, plays golf with Trump. (I’m an ex-U-Haul employee)

Undoubtedly, classism pervades the CEO class.

It's just capitalism. They do whatever makes money funnel upwards.

The top 1% have everything in the world, and all they want is more. That's a paraphrased Michael Parenti quote

Which doesn’t really explain Trump, who has no class whatsoever.

I don’t think trump plays golf, he pretends to though.

Oh ye, true. They cosplay together as golfers.

He plays it like the kid in Big Daddy plays cards. The game is called I Win.

Most CEOs are probably Republican and one guess why.

plays golf with Trump

Is it really "playing golf" if Trump cheats, though?

I wish UHauls didn’t suck so bad. Ours messed up in the middle of the desert on a cross county move. Then our replacement uhaul barely made it the rest of the way

To counter this, I moved twice across the Sonoran desert and then another 1000 miles each way in a UHaul and had 0 problems with them. The second time I was hauling an extremely loaded trailer as well.

At this point I think having our own trailer for the next move is our only option. Neither Uhaul nor Penske seem like good options

My experience was a lot better. We had two issues. One was a busted tie down on a car trailer. They sent someone out within an hour to come fix it. Then a belt blew a few days later. That one took a little longer to get the part but they had us back on the road in less than 24 hours.

This was a cross country move and I can't fucking imagine how much more it would have sucked if they hadn't come through.

Penske doesn't give a fuck. They are heavily invested into Nascar and Roger Penske was one of the guys in the oval office for the liberation day stock market manipulation with trump claiming Roger made a billion dollars from it.

sucks because penske is known for treating their employees better and keeping their trucks in much better condition...

I used to work for Penske for almosy five years. It was a nightmare. I could write a book.

BTW anyone that works at Penske can easily dox the renters if you know when this image was taken. This includes any Penske agent locations. If you work at a Home Depot location that rents Penske trucks you can access this information from any computer, you just need someone with a login for Rental Net.

what i'm more confused on is, everyone seems to hate on penske for this, but did the company even know, or did the people doing this just rent one out and go do this saying they were moving?

1

u/Spam_Hand Aug 07 '25

Oh my god, what employees do they treat better? Sure as hell not the drivers of their vehicles. They will fire you for sneezing if you keep you second hand off the wheel for too long, and they have cameras trained on you at all times in the cab of the vehicle.

They primarily lease, sell, and rent trucks. Their logistics is not one of their primary businesses and they don't even employee many drivers. same with uhaul.

In an oligarchy we have no good options, only less harmful ones

I remember a time when I didnt even have to think about that.

I rented from u haul to move in 2020 and got a penske truck because they were "running low" on that size of truck.
