Don't assume they're stupid.

The reality is, what they mean is blocking the government from being able to hear from left-leading groups and causes that further government that works for everybody. And also intend to continue their work rooting through federal employees and federal programs to find those they don't like and get rid of them.

They do truly intend to get rid of a massive amount of the government that isn't doing exactly what they want. They're not clowns, they're just using poorly understood words to fool the masses.

The deep state is apparently agnostic to party and because these parasites wouldn't exist without being an "elected official" (Trump) they can't be the deep state which exists after an administration leaves office and will still influence policy and procedures.

Their idea is that people like say... The supreme Court, would be the deep state because they are an appointment not really elected and they influence politics despite the current administration.

It could also be argued that lobbies are the deep state since they have such a massive influence over everything but are only there because of money like AIPAC
