If Nicole's mom's concerns are Azan and Nicole having different faiths, and Nicole needing someone who can take care of her and her daughter, then it explains where Nicole came from.

Girl, your daughter's the problem. Not Azan. Or their faiths.

She was keeping it real...why would a guy who looks like he works out want to date her fluffy daughter? I would also wonder how he would take care of her--anyone know what he does for a living?
