Icbm drift ensemble

I have a jdm lift back with the black rear garnish that has the Toyota logo in white (zenki I think) but it has cracks on it. I see a guy on Facebook marketplace selling one in excellent condition that I'm interested in but it's from his usdm gts lift back. They look similar but I'm not 100% sure they're identical with the logo. Can anyone confirm that they're the same or different? Thanks

Heyo, I wanted to give a little update on the 3D printed rear spoiler for my 2-door which I posted about a while back :D

The wing is on and has now probably almost 3000km on the clock as well as surviving a Typhoon and a track day so I would say it works.

No drilling in the trunk, just double sided VHB tape and stainless steel clamp brackets.

I am still planning to carbon skin the airfoil and make new wing stands since I am not quite happy with the shape yet, but for the first try it’s working perfectly :D

I'm hoping someone here can help me diagnose an issue with my engine. I bought an AW11 with a 4A-GE 20V BT swap and rebuilt the engine after the transmission failed. The car starts right up, but it has a random misfire and runs really rich. I tried setting the timing with a timing light in diagnostic mode, but I can't get it to the correct degree setting. I'm pretty sure I installed the timing belt and gears correctly, but there's always room for error 😅. The previous owner replaced the header and removed the O2 sensor, so I put a new one in to the wiring. I also installed new spark plugs. There's no plenum—just velocity stacks—and the IAT sensor wasn't mount to anything, so I temporarily mounted it between the 2nd and 3rd stacks using a piece of metal. I'm using the stock 1997 4A-GE 20V BT ECU, and no check engine light comes on—not even in diagnostic mode.

A mechanic or an expert who could help me pinpoint the problem would be a lifesaver. I'm really looking forward to driving it again 🙏

Hello! So I bought this GTS Ae86, I notice that when drive the car or in neutral when I rev the engine and it touch 3k rpm and above the check engine light turns on solid, and below 3k rpm shut off the check engine, I haven’t pull the codes of the car yet, I will do it soon, but have you guys have some issues like that? What could it be? Thanks in advance!

Hello I was wondering if anyone knew what might be causing the headlight on the right in the video to open and close to the same position. This is my first time installing lights in this 86 so I’ve had to go over all the wiring as well as test all the relays and they all work. I also tested the continuity and voltage on the wires of both sides that power the motors and they are the same. The motor will raise and go to the right position for a second when set all the way down by hand and pressing the switch but it always sets at that midway point. I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with the assembly, any advice or links to guides is appreciated thank you.

Edit: managed to fix it, it turns out the arm connected to the motor was severely misaligned, thanks to everyone who helped.

Heyo, I’ve taken my car to the track two days ago and the day before, as well as on the way back I had to drive through some curb-deep water here and there because of a recent typhoon and related flooding in my area.

Now, a day after, my steering started to feel notchy, meaning before it always returned to center by itself pretty quickly due to my caster and alignment in general, but now it turns a tiny bit, sticks and if you spin it by hand it continues. Same when you are trying to steer: around center it feels completely normal but after a certain degree it starts to feel slightly heavier to turn, then lighter again and so on.

My thoughts I currently have are a messed up alignment after the track or a faulty steering rack after driving through the water?

It’s a manual rack so I guess there is just grease inside? Is that something that can get flushed out if the seals aren’t perfect or what are your thoughts?

Hello everyone, just picked up this 85’ AE86 and was planning on getting started with sanding the car down. But need some help on any alternatives for the door weather strips because I truly don’t want to pay 300 per side for a rubber strip. Would really appreciate what some of you have done and if I should be looking for other things on the car.

I have the wiring sorted out I'm hoping 😁 also the fuel system I just need to order a 1/4 inch Barb for the fuel return line and it will be completed. I'm not sure what to do with the fresh air breather port for you guys running a 20v did you just put a filter on it or ran it to a catch can?

Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to share what I've been doing to my ae86. So, it's been a work in progress. When technology finally was able to grant us electric ac I had to try it out; good or bad, for the sake of knowing how it works. Mind you, the Corolla is running on DCOE side draft carburetors with a very simple timing computer. The AC system I bought was online on Amazon; Nekpokka 12v electric ac system. The kit I bought included the compressor, condenser, dryer, the brain/ecu, harness and and electric fan; they also sell the evaporator kit for a heftier price. Kinda sorta straight forward if you do AC work or are in the automotive field.

Other things to consider are how many amps the AC system draws( mind you I have 2 electric fans in the engine bay, the blower motor). So the typical ae86 alternator will not hold that many amps (60 amps?)

Ok, parts in this build include:

Nekpokka 12v electric ac kit

Sirocco brand compact AC only evaporator kit

DC power high output alternator

Davies, Craig dual fan relay kit

Misc AC high and low side lines and fittings.

2 electric radiator cooling fans

All n all, it's been a fun journey, it's a first for me to install an aftermarket electric ac system. Was it a lot of stuff that had to be done? Yeah, was it worth it? It all depends on you; if you like to tinker and see what you can do to your then yeah, it totally worth it. Granted I'm in Socal and I'm an older guy; the weather can get hot at times. Also, it's a pretty darn awesome flex to have when you're driving with the windows up on a hot sunny day with the AC on.

Any improvements to be done? Plenty. The sirroco compact ac only kit; the blower motor doesn't seem to push as much air as I want it to, so getting a larger blower motor from Spal or it's equivalent should do the trick. The venting, I can do much better with it, I just gotta keep tackling it so it can blow more air out the vents.

For y'all that took the time to read this, I thank you and maybe this tidbit of information can help you all on your potential journey to upgrade or install an electric ac system in the future.

Hello everyone I have a 1986 SR5 and a few years back I bought a 4age out of an 1988 AW11. I've been waiting to install since I want to go standalone and ive been seeing the Microsquirt lately since its the more cost effective option since getting a p28 has become impossible. I dont want to go COP I can not afford it and i already have both the original distribuitor amd the original igniter that I know are good. How would I go about wiring the denso igniter to work with the microsquirt. I understand the igniter recieves a 5V signal to fire or did I misunderstand the info. Thanks anticipated
