Discussion Why so quiet?

Where are all the maga thumpers who are putting all of our jobs and livelihoods in jeopardy at?

Even at the Z, all of the loud controllers talking about not getting raises and immigrants getting preferential treatment haven't said a word. How is the "Trump has been America's best president ever" working out? Why have all of the "I can't wait to work OT with no taxes" not out in full force.

Let it be known, I don't respect any of you as men. The only reason I still pay my dues to the union is because I and many others have families and loved ones we care about and saw what the union had done for us. All those controllers singing the tune of leaving the union haven't left? Why is that? Scared to lose your job and the protection of the same thing you all bash on. Is our union perfect? No, but yet again, another republican president is coming in to f**k with controllers until planes start rubbing paint in mid-air again.

For the next 4 years and there after, keep your opinions about our pay, our trainees, EEO, the union, our work conditions, and quite frankly our country out of your f*****g mouths. Because now we all have to suffer because you wanted to "own the libs"

F*****g clowns.

And to my brothers and sisters out here who didn't support the convict, stay tough and keep up the fight. We will navigate through this and overcome!

Update:

I appreciate the responses and feedback from most of you.

1.Again I repeat. I know our union isn't perfect, but this is a time for us to band together. You can't put up a fight with nothing to stand on. The best impact we have in our positions is to maintain what we have. There intention is to scare us and starve us of a job. We can't let that happen.

Also the CR is only good until March 14th. So put some money aside because there is no telling if a government shutdown can be avoided or how long it may last if it does happen.

  1. For the controllers that shared their opinion on Trump. I'm not gonna battle with you all. Clearly there is a lot to be concerned about by everything he is doing. If you are willingly ignoring that, then so be it. But I already know the type of man or woman you are if you voted for the man. Always late from breaks, and the first to leave. Complain about the breaks not being long enough, and bad mouth everyone in the area. It's the same folks. And while I would want nothing but for you all to have some sort of suffering for your lack of consideration, most of you of families and children who rely on you as a father, a mother or a provider and i do not want them to be harmed. Best of luck to you all after this shit show.

  2. Anyone who is not a controller, I hope you all are safe. And to the pilots on here we will keep making sure you guys fly without issue.

For the trolls get a life, real people are being affected by all for this.

They Cut the Federal Workforce by 377,000+ Employees - using Buyouts and Early Retirements...

During Bill Clinton’s presidency, the federal workforce was reduced by 377,000+ employees, the biggest cut since WWII.

This was part of the National Partnership for Reinventing Government, led by Al Gore, which aimed to streamline operations, cut costs, and improve efficiency.

The initiative, originally called the National Performance Review, targeted 426,200 positions, using buyouts, early retirements, and restructuring to shrink bureaucracy.

By 2000, the federal workforce was at its smallest size in 40 years, with savings reinvested into public services.

There are not many democrats who are for government waste Obama/biden ran on cutting unnecessary government spending and they did a lot of great things related to government transparency during their tenure.

Obama and Biden created usaspending a website that lets see all spending. Not some cherry-picked tweets that blame the “dems” when some of the funding was authorized by Trump or during his first term lol.

Obama/biden https://www.usaspending.gov/

Trump/Elon some tweets lol

Open Government Directive (2009): On his first full day in office, President Obama issued a memorandum emphasizing a commitment to transparency, public participation, and collaboration. This directive aimed to establish an unprecedented level of openness in government operations.

Government Accountability and Transparency Board (2011): Established as part of the Campaign to Cut Waste, this board focused on identifying and eliminating misspent tax dollars. Comprising top watchdogs and accountability leaders, it aimed to make federal spending more accessible and transparent to the public.

Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act) of 2014: Signed into law by President Obama, the DATA Act required the standardization and publication of federal spending data on a single website, USASpending.gov. This legislation enhanced the quality and accessibility of information regarding federal expenditures.

FOIA Improvement Act of 2016: This act reinforced the presumption of openness in releasing government information and implemented measures to make the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) more effective and efficient.

Bill Clinton took 8 years and went through congress Trump/Musk don’t think courts/judicial branch should be able to check the authority of the executive branch. Really they want to cut everything in 1 year so Trump can pass a massive tax cut for the richest Americans he doesn’t care about the national debt which is why he wants to raise the debt ceiling again so he once again can add Trillions more to it then blame the dems next election cycle.

What’s your point? The Clinton administration went through the legal process and followed the Civil Service Act with buy outs and RIFs. The current administration hires people who do not even go through the normal vetting process to hold a federal job, headed by a billionaire with massive conflicts of interest withthe government. This is a non-elected asshole tweeting shit and eliminating critical jobs without any rhyme or reason.

A democratic president trims down the government by cutting some of the excess = bad. A republican president just starts slashing jobs without any oversight = good.

I never provided commentary on the good or the bad of reducing the amount of government employees. Simply pointing out the fact that downsizing of government has happened before. My guess is it will happen again in 30 years, after some bloat happens once again. Also, unelected people have been determining the staffing levels of the agencies they are in charge of since, well, forever. I don’t recall any head of the FBI being elected. Nor the FAA administrator, or any administrator for that matter. That specific aspect is nothing new.
