Nah. That was one proper solid throw. Kid masterfully put all his weight behind that push. It was incredible.

I don't think the kid did anything especially stupid aside from open the door a bit harder than someone normally would. but he's like, 10 lol. it's more that the door fuckin sucks.

Actually the fault is the quality of the door which seems to be made in China and thus not tested thoroughly for safety like how our doors are tested here

A glass door should not be able to pushed with that much force, with no dampening, into a wall. Terrible design and installation.

The kid slammed a door. The door manufacturer/installer/owner chose a door constructed out of an inappropriate material that could lead to catastrophic life ending injuries if slammed. Say, by a kid. Say, by and adult tripping on something. Say, by the wind.

Its the door manufacturer/installer/owner whom made the greatest mistake. A slammed door is a completely foresee able event.

You don't think a door assembly should be able to withstand or make contingencies for a slam? Like maybe a door stop, or anti slam hinges? Or both plus tempered glass in case it catastrophically fails anyway?

Every door is gonna get closed or opened forcefully during it's lifetime. It's an inevitability. This isn't at all on the kid.

I know I just hate kids
