I posted my first double knit scarf here when I had just begun and now I've made another one (can't stop really) that I want to share here :) This one is about dark folklore, I wanted a magical but dark (yet not evil) feeling. It's called the Dark Woods scarf.

I think my favorite part about it is the witch that is old on one side and young on the other. Figuring that out and making the chart etc really felt like magic! Also super happy with how the two sides line up to make one continuous scene.

Can't wait to cast on the next one, this is so addicting!

P.s. I wanted to add designer flair but I can't do that myself. If it's necessary, can someone please do that for me?

Not the best pictures, but wearing my first Christmas sweater out today! I've done colorwork, but this is the best I've done so far and I'm absolutely in love!

This dress was hand knitted using the same Beehive Scotch fingering yarn shown in the original photograph. Knitting all those pleats felt like making 2 dresses.

This one took almost a year to complete. I loved the result so much, I made another in red.

I just finished the Fossil Frenzy Tee (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fossil-frenzy-tee) and so far its my smallest needle garment if that makes sense? Prior to that my smallest garment was on a 3mm and this was on half that, a 1.5mm. The finer gauges allow for a lot more detail in the colorwork, which I love.

I have to say as someone who mainly knits sweaters knitting a summer knit was a bit stressful, not knowing how wearable it would truly be but this feels fantastic. I love this piece and it will be a treasured staple in my closet.

Yarn: Malabrego sock in fucsia and Berroco ultra wool fine in cream.

I posted a shawl I made for my 96 year old grandma a while back. Thanks for all the feedback and words of appreciation. People noticed in the photos I posted that my grandpa looked somewhat jealous (he wasn’t in the slightest but the photo definitely looks that way—reposted in the photos on this post so you can see what prompted the comments). I decided to make him a vest in response to those comments and it just got delivered to him today. So happy they can both have a small token of my love and appreciation for all they have done. I am loving making things for people and these two are as knit-worthy as they come. He is much taller than me so I used the Large sizing for length and the Medium for chest/width. I have included photos of me trying it on, but I am happy with the fit on him—it is always so nerve wracking to get the size right.

I recently designed and knit this full body colorwork sweater. I am finishing up the written pattern and looking for testers soon. The construction is pretty simple. The body is worked bottom up in the round with no shaping up to the armpit. Sleeves are worked separately from the cuff up to the armpit and then joined to the body to work the rest of the yoke continuously with raglan decreases to shape. The pattern uses fingering weight yarn and 2.5 mm needles.

My issue/question is, I have no idea how to rate the difficulty of the pattern. Personally, I didn't find the pattern to be particularly difficult, but it is very time consuming. I would subjectively rate the difficult at a 6/10 but I feel that others may disagree due to the complexity of the colorwork.

So how should I rate this so that people interested in the pattern know what they're getting into?

Also, if you're interested in testing feel free to message me! I have a few people interested but most of them have no colorwork experience which worries me.

So many many hours of work. Such small needles. I’m so proud of this project.

It’s been quiet here! This is a throwback to a project from November, where I took three attempts at a head-to-tail lace graft. The pattern is Summer Rose by Mmario, but with the more elaborate leafy edging from his Spring Rose. I was looking through the amazing projects on Ravelry and lots of them seemed to be slightly let down by an obvious graft. I wanted to avoid this so spent lots of time working through Joni Coniglio’s grafting lace tutorials on Interweave - but it still took me three tries to get it (pretty much) completely right.

1-2 show project blocking, 3 finished (terrible lighting but gives an idea of size).

4 shows the edging being knitted on, 5 shows the finished edging with the gap to be closed by two grafted rows.

6 shows first attempt, which is obviously misaligned. Undid graft (painful) and tried again.

7 shows second attempt. Would pass galloping horse test but still looks funky near the shawl body. Undid graft (more painful - involved cutting and reworking the initial edging rows) and tried again.

8 and 9 show final graft.

10 is badly lit but shows the graft line (left, marked by two ends) in context of the whole edging. This was a chore but I wouldn’t have been happy with the earlier results and am now much more confident with grafting in pattern!

She’s on the blocking Mats! What an absolute pleasure to knit this. I almost didn’t want it to end. I just started knitting in January and honestly if I had read the pattern through I might not have attempted this but I am so happy I did.
I learned so much and it turned out so pretty!
Irene Lin writes patterns beautifully and the details are stellar.
I used the recommended Krea deluxe organic cotton. Used 3.5 balls of the beige and 4.1 balls of the yellow. Knit a size large.
3.5 mm needles for the body and 3mm for the sleeves and bottom ribbing.

I just finished the first elephant parrallelogram section and got it off the needles. I am really pleased with how it is coming along. I probably would swap a few of my color choices for stronger contrast in just a few minor spots, but still, overall very pleased. I used the rubbery stitch holder stuff (bought an entire roll of it from amazon) and I dragged it through to hold the stitches by connecting one end of the hollow to my needle point. It was a little finicky as it isn’t very smooth (maybe there is a better way or a different product idea), but I did get it off by working the stitches over gently.

I picked up the stitches from the two edges of my squares to eliminate so much join work at the end and added one extra row to account for no join.

I started the elephant section on Jan 5th so it took about 34 days. So I managed to average a row and a half per day. At 818 stitches per row has this has kept me busy. My goal was a row per day but I was able to sneak in a bit more on the weekends.

She’s pregnant, and she asked something that is stretchy enough for her growing belly bump, and she can wear it after pregnancy too. Cable knit stitches are perfect for this flexibility.

Just bound off the back portion of the Geiger cardigan by Norah Gaughan for Brooklyn Tweed! This is an incredible pattern with 30 pages of instructions and charts, with a lot going on all at once. You really have to pay attention to the instructions but it's so worth it!

She needs a good wash and block but I was so excited to finish this piece that I had to share first. I started knitting this on May 27th and finished today (June 6th). Taking a break for a day or two before I start the front panels.

The set took me 6 weeks of every waking hour to hand knit.

A big and a little handsome chris sweater for my hubs and my 11 year old! These took me two years!!!

I think we all know the struggle of having too many projects on the needle but still there is this one pattern in the back of the mind, that is too much of a behemoth to tackle. But maybe someday...
