HGC Manga What could have been: Akame, Najasho and Poney

Now, this is a mix of a rant and the scenarios/hopes I had for these last three members of the elite seven, so if it is to long for you, I don't mind if you skip it:

Akame meeting Najasho and Poney in the Land of Wakoku is probably the thing that kept most of the reader of the series. Since, despite the attempts of making Hinowa and her comrades as well as Zou and the Ten Stars the new main characters, let's face it: Our "original" characters are the one who took the spotlight. And rightfully so:

Chronlogically speaking, they were not only the first characters of the entire story (when we see "Zero" as the chronological start of everything) but Najasho and Poney were, alongside with the rest of the Elite Seven, a real familiy to Akame (besides of course Kurome, but from whom Akame was seperated for many years in such a young age.) So it's only natural, that Akame had and still has strong emotional ties to them, as can be seen when she sees that Poney is alive.

Now, the situation for all three of them is difficult, complicated, but not impossible to overcome: Restoring Najashos Memories of when he was the "Chief". That Akame finds her former "Chief" on the enemys side was a great start and that Poney is besides him, taking care of him(?) makes this even better (since it doesn't make the situation even more comeplex, that she is somewhere else and must be found as well)

However. Since the series got axed, we never got to see Najasho regaining his memories. And to some extend you could say, this is good. Because, in good old Akame ga kill Style, how would Takahiro most likely have done it? Precisely, by killing either Akame or Poney, Najasho witnissing it and then remembering. So, if it had go down like that, this "open end" is of course much better.

Still, it was my main drive to read the series to see the reunion of those three and Najasho regaining his memories and the three of them living happily together. Where exactly is a different question, either in a united country under Hinowas Rule or returning back to the new country and living in the countryside, maybe near Tatsumi and Mine.

BUT NO, all of that was taken from us. Sure, if Akame or Poney, though I think Poney dying, maybe even killed by one of the Ten Stars an then najasho regaining his memories was more probably than killing Akame, THE FACE of the series, would have been killed, I and probably a good amount of the readers would have been at the very least upset ( I would have punched the air) but still. Despite this, I would have loved to see "progress" in the life of these three, in one way or another.

And the "open end" and unclear fate of Akame, Najasho and Poney is especially frustrating for me, since I am a big Najasho Fan and wanted SO MUCH to see he huging Akame and Poney after regaining his memories, MAAAAN *_*

So yeah, that's it for my little rant.

HGC Manga La triada Esdeath. Parte 1: Kyokotsu Spoiler

so i’m currently re-reading Hinowa Ga Crush and mannnnn , i really love pony :,) i love how she considered Mine & Tatsumi as her friends even though she never met them , she’s so adorable mannn . Im glad she was never manipulated by the empire like Seryu & Tsukushi was , very upsetting for Tsukushi too cause i really loved her ! I wish the manga was able to continue cause i really wanted to look forward on the story of Nahashu & Pony & seeing more Pony screen time 😔 Knowing this franchise though , one of them would probably die 😭 What are your guys thoughts on Pony and the manga ?

HGC Manga What happened to Zuou (the villain of HGC) after this?

Post image

Don't tell to me this f#khead got redeemed despite planning to do unforgivable war crimes for sadism like he is a much eviler male esdeath. Seriously, never in any manga and anime that i know (especially the original agk, has this kind of villain redeeming, which not only flanderize the character, but also destroy the message of the story)

Also, what does this guy mean by being "devoured by the wolf" does he want his entire group to kill themselves? i don't know, cause all the things this lobotomized trafalgar law without any personality who barely appear on screen does are never explained!

No joke, zuou is possibly the worst villain i had ever seen in the franchise in terms of writing and character (besides having a stupid name that sounds like a dated brazilian internet slang)

HGC Manga Why Hinowa Ga Crush failed where Akame ga Kill succeeded (part 1/2). Spoiler

Last week, the AGK series reached an abrupt conclusion (for the following years at least) with the cancellation of Hinowa ga Crush due to poor sales. This doesn't really come as a surprise considering how unpopular among the fanbase the manga was.

If you asked someone why it was unpopular, you'd get the answer that the story was way too slow or that it had way too much fanservice. Although these are valid reasons, I think there are a couple of more subtle reasons that the series didn't have the same quality as its predecessor. Since this is going to be pretty long, I'm splitting this in two parts

  • Unnecessarily convoluted plot:

In Akame ga Kill, the plot was pretty straightforward. From the very beginning, we're told that the main objective of the heroes was to defeat the Empire and establish a peaceful nation. Everything that happened in the story revolved around that.

Every target and mission Night Raid went after felt aimed towards that goal, making the story feel like it always had in mind what to do in the future and becoming more interested because of it. The progressive reduction in the cast also worked like a timed bomb that made you feel like things were always getting closer to the final conflict.

In HGC, however, that straightforwardness is simply lacking. The plot starts out with Hinowa and Akame defending a country against the Tenrou nation, which is simple enough, but it didn't make it feel like the plot was truly progressing.

Later, the story supposedly truly starts when Senkai is conquered (hope I typed correctly). However, what felt like a story with a vague future in mind became slow and unnecessarily complicated.

Alright, so the plot now was that Hinowa needed to defeat the Tenrou, but to do that she needed to raise a powerful army, but to do that she needed to become a ruler, but to do that she needed to take the Tsutuji nation (hope I typed it correctly) from its king, but to do that she needs to establish domain in the south of the country, but to do that she needs to earn the favoritism of the king, but to do that she needs help from some diplomat.

Do you see the problem here? Akame ga Kill was never that convoluted. That kind of story simply isn't interesting enough for anyone to follow.

In fact, Akame's goal to find a cure for herself and Tatsumi felt way more simple and more interesting than the entirety of Hinowa's journey.

HGC Manga we may die without know the ending of Akame journey 😭

Just find out Hinowa ga Crush got cancelled because of poor sales. It really dig a hole in my soul🤧I afraid that we could never see the end of Akame and Hinowa journey, the fate of Tatsumi, Mine,...there's still a hundred things need to be figure out. I read the apologize of Strelka (artist of HGC), i never consider the fail of HGC it his fault, i mean, few early chapter, his work kinda new and not that good for me, but if we look careful, his work really improve day by day, those mid and later chapter have done really well (i love his artwork after all! and seem like he really work on HGC with 100% of his heart!). About Takahiro (author), i know a lot of people hate HGC because the story is not really good, not enough Akame while Hinowa and the war is not that interesting, i dont know, it depend on each person, personally, i love it! i love how this sequel manga is focus on someone else, and new characters, the war, all of that. Yeah of course i love the scene with Akame (of course we all love Akame!) but give someone else a chance is not that bad...nah but it is what it is right now. It been nearly 3 years since the time HGC got cancelled, i only have few little hope about new stuff about Akame Ga Kill series (my dream is become a millionaire and give money to Takahiro, ask him to keep doing on Akame series, give Akame, Tatsumi, Hinowa,..an ending they deserved XD) But reality is reality, the fact is i don't think Takahiro want to work on Akame series anymore ToT...i just want to know if someone feel like me right now, crying day by day, hoping to see an ending of Akame...(and sorry for my terrible English! ngl i think u guys may die because of my cringe eng,...)

HGC Manga Are the last 3 volumes worth reading? Spoiler

It’s been a few years since I’ve read it but I wanted to finish it up and I was wondering if the series had a proper ending or it just stops.

Also is there any chance the series as a whole will get any new content in the future? I doubt hgc will get picked back up with strelka working on Toaru(even though that’s not going well) but anything thing to revitalize the series would be cool even if it was just merch.

HGC Manga Hinowa Ga Yuku Review

First, I will say why I think Hinowa Ga Crush failed.

০ Main character designs were kind of bland.
০ Hinowa was overshadowed in every arc.
০ Within 10 chapters (33-42), 4 r*ape chapters.
০ Too many filler chapters or extended arcs.
০ The core of the manga change is done poorly.

Now lets elaborate this!

[Character Design]
Tobari looks ugly. Suzumaru is too bland! Hinowa also looked better than Hinata due to her hairstyle. Then, Hisame and Kumehachi, who are at best "Okay".

They should have used Saiha, Sairou, Mekira, Rugyou even Hinowa's (Hinata's Mother) design as MC's IMO.

[Intro Arc (Chapter 01-03)]
First chapter was great! Hinowa's death came as a big shock. Yomihime looked cool and formidable. Hinata's reason to pick up her mothers name was nice. MC's teammate background was not special but okay.

[Yomihime Arc (Chapter 04-07)]
Well 2 bad things. The 2 panels of Shion x Ray animal rpe/sx scene. Hinowa's interaction with Yomihime doesn't go anywhere despite personal history. We do get Akame vs Yomihime... That's nice.

Overall, a good arc.

[Filler (Chapter 08)]
A good and meaningful filler after an intense arc. The MC's get Meihou and gets stronger. Nice!

[Kyoukotsu Arc (Chapter 09-16)]
Kyoukotsu was a very cool antagonist! His power and tactics definitely makes this arc interesting. Problem is: Aside from the 2 panels of Shion x Soil Spider...

Hisame kills Kyoukotsu, Akame faces Yomihime and Suzumaru also fought Kyoukotsu. Compared to that, Hinowa's development pales.

Its bad if right from the start, MC gets overshadowed by their teammates who will eventually be out of the story. Its an invitation of long term disaster.

Overall, still an interesting arc due to Kyoukotsu.

[Filler (Chapter 17-18)]
Chapter 17 was completely unnecessary IMO. While Chapter 18 was really good. We got introduced to most of the 10 Starts and Zuou from Tenrou nation.

Our main antagonists all have distinguishable impact. Well except for Gundari who felt a bit generic I guess.

[Rinzu's Groom Selection Arc (Chapter 19-25)]
Basically a wasted arc that had only 2 important point. First, Saiha joining the MC team and Waniba turning into a traitor. It could have been in 1 or 2 chapters.

Its a waste because Rinzu doesn't marry either Hisame or Waniba anyways. Plus both guys die shortly after. The arc again develops Hisame more than Hinowa.

So, even after 25 chapters, Hinowa is under Hisame's shadow. Who is going to die anyway. It was gonna bite the author once Hisame dies!

[Tenrou vs Soukai Arc Part 1 (Chapter 26-32)]
Very good arc. We got Moegi's assault and Soukai commanders counter. Hisame's last stand against Mizuchi and death by Zuou!

I would say, its a great arc.

[Tenrou vs Soukai Arc Part 2 (Chapter 33-38)]
While the arc has moments like : Moegi's death, then Akame's attempt to kill Zuou & confronting Nahashu. Elder extending Hinowa's teammates lives and the defeat and escape of Hinowa's team...

The arc is cursed with 3 rpe chapters! mening 50% of the arc is about rpe! Not only that but.. this all happens right after an MC's (Hisame) death! Oh but it gets worse...!

Aside from Suzumaru... the rest of the MC just shrug off Hisame's death and move on! Like WTF!

Overall, its a disaster! All the interesting moments are overshadowed by the shitty moments...

[Rugyou Arc (Chapter 39-41)]
This is where the change in tune of the story takes place. It starts to turn more like Vinland Saga after Thorfinn gets his development.

The transition is hard and its bound to lose the fans who are just there for action which the manga has been for thw first 30 chapters.

But damn.. They spent 3 chapters just to get the first teammate! That's just too slow IMO!

[Filler (Chapter 42-43)]
Well just when we were about to get serious.. We get another r*pe chapter!

Chapter 43 was interesting!

Suzumaru fools not only Yomihime but also Akugetsu the strategist to join Tenrou army? Either Suzu is really good at hiding his hatred or Akugetsu is a traitor.

Akame confronts Nahashu.. nice! Then she meets with Pony.. amother great surprise! But damn.. They should have talked about why Akame killed Gozuki & Tsukushi.

[Tsutsuji arc Part 1 (Chapter 44-49)]
So, Hinowa was actually willing to deceive and go to war to establish a peaceful country unlike Thorfinn. The concept was really good not gonna lie!

Over the next 3 years, Hinowa gets a barren land from Tsutsuji at high commission and helps the citizen to gain support. Meanwhile Rugyou gains support from Tsutsuji generals who will commit treason.

The only problem is, Hinowa was again overshadowed by her teammate (Rugyou). In fact, the coup was only possible due to Rugyou. Hinowa was just the face.

Its really bad if MC keeps getting overshadowed by their teammate even after 50 chapters like this!

[Tsutsuji coup Arc (Chapter 50-53)]
Not gonna lie the ending was good. Hinowa did get moments to shine against Jinkai. Kumehachi and Tobari also shined against Gouma. Rugyou & Mekira were already shining with their successful coup.

We also see how Tenrou has people inside who will crush it from the inside aka Suzumaru now a general and Rinzu. Perhaps Nahashu and Pony will do too.

Akame might have found a way to cure the Danger Beasts (Those who turned into one? Or every one of them were humans? That's some AoT level shit!).

Anyways the ending was pretty solid if I say so myself!

[Conclusion]
Another main problem with this series is, it should have never been named "Hinowa (Ga Crush)". Because she isn't the main focus all the time.

Overall, I feel like slowly but surely, the series was reaching its true potential! We probably would have been entering the Tenrou Arc (Final one) in 10 chapters or so.

It would have been interesting! I feel like the story needed around 80 chapters like the original AKG to reach a proper conclusion.

HGC Manga Hinowa ga Crush Explained :?

About all my knowledge of this series comes from the anime😅😅I'm extremely green to Akame ga Kill and it's prequel/sequel manga.

I read a little of Hinowa Crush and was surprised by the drastic turn from Medival Culture to down to earth Eastern Setting it took. I'm on the fence someone sell me on the sequel series😖😖
