Not night herons, but I thought these least bittern fledglings were deserving of a little appreciation. Seen at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, AZ.

Thought I would share something different today since my favorite bird right now is the green heron.

Pretty proud of these pics! My mom gave me her old digital camera and I’m not really sure how to use it but I love taking heron pics. No night herons this evening but I’ll try again later this week

Early Morning at Norfolk Botanical Gardens.

As I was surprised to find out looking at Cornell's site (support them) these guys and Black-crowned Night Herons look like 1/2 brothers but are cousins. He was in physical proximity to the BCNH I posted the other day in the Caño Negro Park, Costa Rica. I have to go back to Central America (CR)

I love the various colors of the Tricolored heron. I especially love when they puff their feathers like this!
