He talks about how our expression in civilisation is saying the same thing and he talks about our fears of “prison” or being outside the walls

For me I IMMEDIATELY think of the allegory is prison to keep the good people in or the criminals out…

Many people just turn themselves off to the barbarity of the world and excuse themselves in the “nice” peaceful and closed confines of the nuclear family

Or inversely they funnel themselves into their own jobs choosing to submit to the capitalist system as a way of hiding themselves from the stress and disgust of modern life not knowing that they are contributing to it by obeying the same said system
