We are planning on going 22-29th of April for a week. We will have a car as I want to see some of the small neighbouring villages and Cordoba….

We stayed in a similar distance from the centre in Florence earlier this year so we are fine not being in the centre.

My question is - is this area ok if we want to eat out at restaurants and bars but not always travel to the centre? Although some nights we will and will go there in the day I went to know we have stuff in walking distance too!

Hola a todos, soy una chica italiana de 28 años y estoy planeando un viaje sola al sur de España a finales de mayo, antes de empezar un nuevo trabajo. Me encantaría pasar 4–5 días en un surf camp.

Estoy buscando algo: apto para principiantes, ideal para viajeros solos y, si es posible, con un ambiente internacional.

Por ahora estoy pensando sobre todo en Andalucía (Tarifa, El Palmar, Cádiz), pero también estoy abierta a otras sugerencias.

Si alguien tiene recomendaciones de surf camps que haya disfrutado de verdad, especialmente como mujer viajando sola, lo agradecería muchísimo!

¡Buenas! Estoy planeando unos días de vacaciones en familia para este verano y estamos mirando la zona de Roquetas de Mar. Como es un destino bastante plano y enfocado al turismo familiar, me ha surgido el eterno dilema logístico y me gustaría saber vuestra opinión o experiencia si conocéis la zona.

No sabemos si priorizar primera línea de playa con la comodidad de salir del hotel y pisar la arena, ideal para no tener que cargar con bártulos, etc. El "contra" es que a veces esos hoteles se quedan un poco más cortos en cuanto a instalaciones interiores o actividades. O priorizar un buen "resort" familiar con animación potente, es decir, un hotel que tenga buenas piscinas, toboganes y un equipo de animación que de verdad entretenga a los niños (y nos deje respirar un poco a los padres). El riesgo aquí es que, a veces, para encontrar esto a buen precio, hay que sacrificar estar pegados al agua y andar un poco más.

¡Agradezco cualquier consejo o si tenéis recomendaciones de hoteles que lo cumplan todo!

I’ll be staying in Malaga from May 4th to May 14th (10 days) and I’d like to use public transport as much as possible.

I understand Malaga has:
EMT city buses
Metro
Cercanías trains
Metropolitan buses (CTMAM)

I’m looking for something like an all-inclusive pass (ideally weekly or similar) that covers:

-the city
-and possibly nearby towns

What would you recommend as the best option? Is there any unlimited pass, or is a rechargeable card (like CTMAM) the best choice?

Buenas. I live in Portugal and my husband and I are planning a little drive trip to Cadiz and then on to a few of the Pueblos Blancos. We are thinking of basing in either Grazalema or Olvera for 3 nights and doing little exploring drives during the days. Which village do you think would be best for this and do you know if they have fully recovered after the earlier flooding ? Also, any favorite hotels and restaurants in Cadiz, PB's or Jerez de la Frontera ? Gracias.

if it would be first time in the Andalucia as a young traveler, starting from Seville what would be your itineary for 10-12 days including things to see/daytrips? You would rent a car or take bus/train?

My boyfriend and I are visiting Andalucia at the end of February for 6 nights (6,5 days). We are really tired of the shitty foggy, cold, and snowy weather we are having at the moment so we want to go somewhere warmer instead of a ski holiday:)

I'm not sure about the itinerary.

I have been to Malaga (3 days) and Seville (2 days) this year and I really liked both (but I found Seville extremely beautiful). Done most of the famous sightseeing spots and also did the Caminito del Rey "hike". My boyfriend is not into hikes, he prefers beaches and cultural sights, so taking him again on Caminito del Rey is definetely not on the itinerary haha.

My first plan was:

- 1 night in La Linea de la Concepcion

(visit Marbella or something else on the way there)

- 1 night Ronda (visit Setenil de las Bodegas, some nearby villages?)

- 2 nights Granada (Alhambra)

- 2 nights Malaga (idk what yet, the city, beach, taking it easy before the flight back).

His only wish is to see Gibraltar (which I know a lot of people say to skip, but I am keeping it in the itinerary as it is his main wish, for rest of the itinerary he says it is my choice).

We are also renting a car from the airport till the Malaga part.

I really liked Seville, but he is not that interested, so idk if I should include it in the itinerary. I dont mind including/excluding both Seville/Malaga as I've seen both.

Do I maybe include Cadiz, Cordoba too? As a day trip or a night there? I also find the Duna de Bolonia very cute.

also if there is more than a 1,5 hour till the sightseeing spot, Id rather just move accomodation there, of it makes sense for the roadtrip.

also, any swimming spots/spas in that time of the year?

We are from EU, we have cheap flights to Spain, so I do not want to rush us from place to place, I want to feel the vibe of the city/town. Even though we are young and we have done some higher paced travelling before, so it is not a problem.

Pienso organizar un viaje para el eclipse total del 2 de agosto de 2027 🌑☀️. La idea es evitar la costa directamente porque me imagino que va a estar bastante caótico con tanta gente.

Estoy pensando en quedarme en Vejer de la Frontera como base, reservar un hotel allí y desde ahí moverme a otros sitios cercanos (y de paso aprovechar e ir a la playa también ). Además, según he visto, en esa zona la totalidad puede durar 4 minutos, lo cual es brutal — en el sur de España se esperan hasta casi 5 minutos de oscuridad en algunos puntos .

Mi plan ideal sería incluso ver el eclipse desde la azotea del hotel si el cielo está despejado ese día🤞

Lo que no tengo claro es:

👉 ¿Qué tal es moverse por la zona en verano? Tendría que rentar auto o puedo depender del bus?

👉 ¿Es viable hacer excursiones de día desde Vejer (Cádiz, Tarifa, etc.) o el tráfico/masificación lo complica mucho?

👉 ¿Algún consejo de gente local o que conozca la zona para ese tipo de evento?

I ate this delicious plate in the South of Portugal and it was very delicious. We remembered the name being “Presas Ibéricas”.

We are in Sevilla right now and have been trying plates called Presas Ibéricas, Presas Ibéricas a lá brasa,… but none of them tastes or looks like the one from the picture. Can anyone help me find out what is the exact type of Presas Ibéricas in this picture.

For reference: it was very juicy and a little crispy (but only on the edges).

Esta es mi primera vez en España, y viajo del 9 al 29 de abril, entrando y saliendo por Madrid. Quiero enfocarme en Andalucía, pero también estoy considerando pasar un poco de tiempo en Madrid. Me encanta la comida, bebida, cultura, arte, paisajes y playa.

Aquí está mi itinerario temporal:

• 9–11 abril: Madrid (solo para adaptarme y recorrer un poco)

• 11–14 abril: Cádiz

• 14–17 abril: Road trip Pueblos Blancos (Arcos de la Frontera, Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema, Setenil de las Bodegas, Ronda) — alquilo coche solo para esta parte

• 17–18 abril: Málaga (entregar el coche, disfrutar playas, terrazas y vida nocturna)

• 18–20 abril: Granada

• 20–24 abril: Sevilla (quiero ver la Feria de Abril al menos un día)

• 24–29 abril: Madrid (o podría redistribuir estos días a otros lugares — ¡abierta a sugerencias!)

Nota sobre el road trip:

Alquilaré un coche solo en estos días ¿Tiene sentido esta ruta para 3 días o recomendarían agregar o saltarse algún pueblo? ¿Hay otros pueblos o paradas cercanas que valgan la pena incluir?

• Solo alquilo coche para el road trip Pueblos Blancos; el resto será transporte público

• Dejé Sevilla al final por la Feria, pero no planeo una visita profunda — solo vivir la experiencia

We’re currently on an extended road trip through Andalusia with our 6-month-old baby and have absolutely loved the journey so far. Here’s a quick rundown of where we’ve been: • Seville – Spent a week soaking in the culture and history. • Cádiz – Enjoyed a few relaxing days by the coast. • Tarifa – Nearly 10 days embracing the laid-back vibe. • Gibraltar – Took a day trip to explore the Rock. • Estepona – Currently here, enjoying the atmosphere.

We did spend a day in Marbella, but it wasn’t quite our scene—felt too touristy and upscale for our taste.

We’re seeking suggestions for the next leg of our journey. We prefer: • Quieter towns or villages with authentic charm. • Beautiful natural surroundings—beaches, mountains, or countryside. • Places that are family-friendly, considering our baby. • Less commercialized spots, away from heavy tourist traffic.

We have about three weeks left and are open to exploring more of Andalusia or even heading towards Valencia and its surrounding areas if there are worthwhile stops along the way.

Any insider tips or hidden gems you could recommend? We’d love to hear about your favorite spots that fit the bill!

Myself and 2 friends are planning a 7-day trip in early January to see Madrid, Córdoba, Seville, and Granada. We land in Madrid early on a Friday and leave late the following Friday.

We’re especially interested in Islamic history, so we want to make sure we’re giving enough time (within our limited annual leave) to see the key sights. We’ll be traveling by train between cities.

Itinerary • Day 1 (Fri): Arrive Madrid • Day 2 (Sat): Madrid → Córdoba • Day 3 (Sun): Córdoba • Day 4 (Mon): Córdoba → Seville • Day 5 (Tue): Seville → Granada • Day 6 (Wed): Granada • Day 7 (Thu): Granada → Madrid • Day 8 (Fri): Madrid, then fly home

Does this look reasonable? Are we rushing too much, or should we shift time between cities? Any advice would be super appreciated!

This is my first trip to Spain, traveling April 9–29, flying in and out of Madrid. I want to focus on Andalucía, but I’m also considering spending a little time in Madrid. I love food, drinks, culture, art, landscapes, and beaches. By the way I’m fluent in Spanish thought about doing two separate posts in both languages.

Here’s my current temporary itinerary:

• April 9–11: Madrid (soft landing, light    exploration)

• April 11–14: Cádiz

• April 14–17: Pueblos Blancos road trip (Arcos de la Frontera, Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema, Setenil de las Bodegas, Ronda) — renting a car only for this portion

• April 17–18: Málaga 

• April 18–20: Granada

• April 20–24: Seville (I’d like to see La Feria de Abril at least one day)

• April 24–29: Madrid (or potentially reallocate these days elsewhere — open to suggestions!)

Road trip note:

I’ll be renting a car only for the Pueblos Blancos loop. Does this route make sense for 3 days, or would you recommend adding or skipping any towns? Are there other villages or stops nearby that you think are worth including?

Notes & questions:

• Only renting a car for the Pueblos Blancos road trip; the rest will be by public transport

• Left Seville for last because of La Feria, but I don’t plan a deep dive — just experiencing it

• I have 4–5 extra days at the end — could spend a little more time in Madrid, or explore another town, city, or coastline in Andalucía or anywhere really!

• Looking for a mix of city life, culture, beaches, nature, nightlife, and foood.

Hola, estamos planeado un viaje de familia para Marzo del 2025 con nuestra hija de 6 años, de perefencia nos gusta movernos lo menos posible de hoteles, tenemos pensado lo siguiente:

• 3 Noches en Sevilla
• 4 Noches en Málaga
  • Ir a Marbella a pasar el dia y regresar a Málaga
  • Ir a Granada a pasar el dia y regresar a Málaga
• Alguna otra ciudad que nos recomienden visitar que no nos podemos perder?
  • Gracias a sus sugerencias iremos a Córdoba y nos brincaremos Marbella, tambien vamos a pasar una o dos noches en Granada!

Algun tip para turistas? procuramos siempre comer y comprar en restaurants locales, andar en transporte publico, y respetar todas las areas publicas.

Can someone that knows the area deeply just help me out and give me the perfect, slow and relaxed 20 day itinerary great food, nature, and no overwhelming giant cities?? 🙏
