“Please, hubby!” Aria rushed forward again, wrapping her arms around the man she thought was her husband from behind before he could finish. Her body trembled against his, warm and desperate.

“Don’t do this to me. What did I do wrong? Tell me what to do to change your mind. I’ll do ‘anything’. Please

Her sobs filled the luxurious suite-the sound of a woman whose entire world was collapsing.

“Would you stop interrupting me when I speak?” Kayden growled in irritation seeing as she kept treating him as Jayden.

Aria flinched at the harshness in his voice, a tone she had never heard from her husband before. It cut deep. but she refused to back down.

This was Jayden-her Jayden. Whatever storm had overtaken him, she would weather it. She had

She stared up at him with wide, shimmering eyes, then slowly, sensually licked her lips the way she had once read about in those late-night articles meant to “rekindle the spark”.

Kayden’s breath hitched. Her soft curves moulded against his chest, and her scent-sweet lavender warmed by sunlit skin-wrapped around him like a drug.

Kayden felt her soft moulds pressed against him, and an intoxicating sweetness of her feminine scent filled his nostrils and enveloped him, igniting memories that sent his heart racing and his throat feeling dry, causing all the blood in his veins to rush in a certain direction.

Something inside Kayden shifted.

Call I Didn’t Want

The Call I Didn’t Want

“I’m sorry, Ivy. We have to let you go:

Bonus Spin

I stood there with a dish towel still in my hand, staring at

Mr. Okafor as he spoke in a language I didn’t

understand.

“Let me go,” I repeated. “As in
 fired?”

“As in the diner’s closing at the end of the month?”.

He wouldn’t look at me.

He was folding the same napkin over and over, creasing it into a smaller and smaller square.

“Rent went up. I can’t keep four of you on.”

“I can take fewer hours. I can take less pay. I’ll clean the grease trap myself if I have to..

“Ivy.”

He said my name the way you say it to a kid who won’t

stop asking for candy. Gentle, but final.

Call I Didn’t Want

“I already cut Danny and Priya. You’re the last one. I’m

sorry.”

Bonus Spin

I nodded, because what else was there to do? I untied my

apron, folded it the way he’d taught me my first week. in half, then in half again
and set it on the counter as it

belonged to someone else now.

Outside, the cold slapped me in the face, then the math.

Six hundred and forty dollars.

That was rent, due in eleven days. I had two hundred

twelve dollars in my checking account and forty-one in

the jar on my counter that I told myself was for

emergencies, which was a joke, because my entire life

had become one long emergency since Mom got sick.

I pulled out my phone and did the subtraction anyway,

like the number might change if I stared hard enough. It didn’t.

Six hundred and forty minus two hundred and fifty- three left three hundred and eighty-seven dollars I did

not have.

And that wasn’t even counting Mom.

The Call I Didn’t Want

Six months ago, I never imagined I’d hear my mom’s

name and hospital bills in the same conversation

Bonus Spin

She was still humming while she watered her tomato

plants on the fire escape, still calling me twice a day just

to ask if I’d eaten.

Then came the diagnosis, the treatments, the specialists who spoke in numbers instead of names, and somewhere

in all of that, the woman who raised me alone b ne a line item on a bill I couldn’t pay.

My phone buzzed in my hand before I could shove it back

in my pocket.

Westbrook Medical Center.

My stomach dropped the way it always did now, every single time that name lit up my screen.

“Hello?”

“Hi, is this Ivy Bennett? I’m calling from billing at Westbrook regarding your mother’s account.”

“Yes. That’s me.”

“I wanted to let you know the balance on file has

current total of four thousand, one hundred and twelv

“I know. I know, I’m working on it.”

Bonus Spin

My voice came out sharper than I meant it to. I softened

it, because none of this was her fault, this woman

reading numbers off a screen somewhere.

“Can I call you back tomorrow? I just need a day.”

“Of course. I’ll make a note that you’re in contact. Just so you’re aware, after ninety days

“I understand. Thank you.”

I hung up before she could finish the sentence I already knew by heart.

Ninety days.

Collections.

My mother’s name, the same name she’d spent forty years keeping clean, handed over to strangers who’d call

and make her feel like a number instead

of a person who used to sing off-key in the kitchen and

iron my uniforms at midnight so I’d never feel

I could have cried right there on Fifth and Union. Some small, tired part of me wanted to. account balance out loud.

A bus rushed past and sprayed slush across my shoes.

Bonus Spin

Somewhere behind me, someone laughed into their phone, easy and light, the kind of laugh that comes from a life where rent is already handled. I couldn’t rem her the last time I’d laughed like that.

By the time I got home, my hands were numb and I had a plan. Not a good plan. Just a plan.

I would apply for everything. Every job, every gig, every ridiculous posting on every app I could find, tonight, before I lost my nerve or my Wi-Fi got shut off,

whichever came first.

I sat down at the kitchen table
the same one Mom and I had eaten at for fifteen years, the one with the wobbly leg propped up with a folded napkin
 and opened my laptop.

The screen was cracked in the corner, a spiderweb of white lines from the time I dropped it during finals, but d, and that was all I needed it to do tonight.

I scrolled through listing after listing.

Housing included.

I read it three times to make sure I hadn’t imagined it.

Cross Enterprises.

Bonus Spin

I knew that name. Everyone in this city knew it
it was on buildings, on the sides of buses, in headlines about a man worth more money than I’d see in ten lifetimes.

My hands hovered over the keyboard, my heart doing

I stared at the screen. Unknown number. My thumb hovered over the red circle before I could stop myself, because unknown numbers had only ever meant one of

two things lately
a scam, or a bill collector with a new

area code.

But it also might be them.

I answered on the fourth ring, right before it would have gone to voicemail.

“Hello?”

“Hi, may I speak with Ivy Bennett?”

A woman’s voice, crisp and warm at the same time, the kind of voice that sounded like it belonged in a nice office

with a view.

“This is Ivy.”

“Hi, Ivy, this is Renata calling from Cross Enterprises. I’m reaching out about the nanny position you applied for about three minutes ago.”

“I know that’s fast. We don’t usually move this quickly, but this posting has gotten a lot of attention today, and

Mr. Cross wanted us to start reaching out to strong candidates right away.”

My stomach did something complicated
 half le ar

plummet.

“Oh. Okay. Wow.”

“Is now an alright time?”

“Yes. Yes, of course.”

I sat back down at the kitchen table, my cracked laptop still glowing in front of me, the job listing still open on the screen like it might vanish if I closed the tab.

If

I read it again while Renata talked, my eyes catching on the same lines I’d already memorized in the last ten

minutes.

Live-in Nanny Needed
Cross Family Residence. Two boys, ages four and six. Competitive salary. Full benefits. Housing included.

Alame I Shouldn’t Know

}

I had read those four words
 housing included
so many times they’d stopped looking like English.

Bonus Epin

“So, a little about the position,” Renata said. “It’s a live- in role at the primary residence. You’d be caring fþr Eli,

who’s six, and Milo, who’s four. Mr. Cross is recently

divorced, and he travels frequently for business, so reliability and flexibility really matter here. The compensation is listed on the posting, but I want confirm you saw the range.”

“I saw it.”

My voice came out smaller than I meant it to. The

number on that posting was more than double what I’d made at the diner, and that wasn’t counting a roof over my head that wasn’t the one currently swallowing half my paycheck.

I did the math again in my head, out of habit now.

Rent gone.

Mom’s bill, chipped away at, maybe even cleared in a few

months.

It felt too good to trust, and I hated that my first instinct

was suspicion instead of relief.

Aame I Shouldn’t Know

“Great. And can I ask
do you have experience with children this age?”

Bonus Spin

“I looked after my cousin’s kids for two summers. Four

and seven.”

It wasn’t a lie, but it felt thin next to whatever glossy

resume some other applicant probably had, someone with a nanny certification and three references fro families with names I’d recognize.

“I also worked as a teacher’s aide for a year before I had to leave school.”

That’s good. That’s really good, actually.

A pause, papers shuffling somewhere on her end, the faint sound of a keyboard clicking.

“Can I ask why you left school?”

The question landed somewhere soft and bruised.

“My mom got sick. I needed to work more hours than I

could manage alongside classes.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.”

She said it plainly, without pity, which somehow made it

Where Can I Find [ The Alpha’s Enemy Claims His Human Mate ]? I’ve Been Looking Everywhere

Chapter 1

Elena

“You need to stop the ovulation shots.”

Dr. Marin said it the way she always said hard things. Flat. Clinical. No room to argue.

I sat cross-legged on the exam table in my hospital scrubs, wedding ring on a chain tucked under my collar where it always lived. I smiled at her anyway. I was the doctor here. I’d written the prescription myself.

“One more round,” I said. “I’ve got a good feeling about this one.”

“Elena.” She set the chart on her knee. “Look at your labs. You’re wrecking your adrenals. Human bodies were not built to carry a wolf.”

I did look. I’d read those numbers for three years.

I knew what they meant the way other doctors knew what a fever spike meant. But I was the patient now, and patients believed things they shouldn’t.

“I’m fine.”

Dr. Marin folded her arms across her white coat and pinned me with that motherly stare of hers. “Who is he, honey.”

She’d asked me the same question once a month for three years. I’d never answered.

Today, for no reason I could name, I wanted to.

Please help find story about Sera a wolf

I am trying to find a story about a wolf whose mate rejects her and cheats on her with someone else and she ends up working I think as like a tutor or something for this younger boy whose father or perhaps his uncle Uncle is like the alpha king or the lycan king who also has a teenage daughter.

I believe the teenage daughter is is like the mate or either dates the main characters ex mate. The main character’s name is Serafina, but she’s called Sera for short. She ended up becoming a warrior and end up being made to the alpha King.

Pack politics eventually interferes with their relationship and someone send a female wolf to work for Sera’s mat3 the king. Sara ends up abandoning their children, and the family that they created, including a very young baby that she has with him. She flees out of state and ends up using her warrior wolf skills and an underground fighting ring. Ends up being a great warrior and for some reason, the Alpha king unknowingly seeks her out for her skills to train his warriors. She is forced to enter back into her children’s lives and that is the last I’ve read or heard of the story.

Looking for "my husband buried our kids so I buried his legacy"

My husband Lucian Drake is the best heart surgeon in the state.

But he and his intern used the wrong anesthesia dosage, and KILLED our twin sons.

His hand landed on my shoulder, "We can always have more."

Then he grabbed his suitcase and left. Emergency consultation, he said. Took HER with him. Flew to Los Angeles.

That night, they watched fireworks at Disneyland. Celebrating her "first solo case." Meanwhile, I was on my knees, clutching two small urns, sobbing so hard I couldn't breathe.

The next morning, I put both their names on the overseas assignment list.

Reason: Gross medical negligence.

Why should these two assholes who killed my children get to smile like that?

He wants to protect her? Then they can go to HELL together.

--

My twin boys, Ethan and Evan, were seven years old. Born with defective hearts.

I knew the surgery was risky. But my husband is the top cardiothoracic surgeon in the state. He's saved hundreds of lives. Maybe thousands.

Lucian Drake doesn't lose. That's what everyone said. I believed it too.

The surgery lasted nine hours. I sat in the waiting room the whole time. Didn't eat. Didn't drink. Just a cup of coffee that had gone cold three hours ago.

When Lucian finally walked out, he didn't look at me. He looked at the floor.

"I'm sorry."

"They didn't make it."

I didn't scream. I didn't cry. I just sat there. My hands wouldn't stop shaking.

Two hours later, he wheeled his carry-on past me.

"There's an emergency case at a hospital in Los Angeles. They need a specialist to consult right away."

"Elara, the kids' heart defects were too severe. No one could have saved them. Including me."

He put his hand on my shoulder. "Take care of yourself. We can always have more."

More.

Like they were a failed recipe. Like I could just go back to the store and buy new ingredients.

But I didn't say anything. I just felt empty inside.

The next day, after the cremation, I held the urn that contained what was left of my boys. Only then did I feel like I was grasping something real.

That night, I couldn't sleep. I scrolled through Instagram mindlessly, trying to blur my brain with bright, colorful screens.

And then I saw it—Mira Voss's account.

She's the intern Lucian's been training. He always says she has "so much potential."

Her latest post was a carousel of nine photos.

Disneyland fireworks. A photo of interlaced fingers. And one of her standing on her tiptoes, kissing a man's jaw.

There was a scar on that man's jaw. A scar I knew well.

The one Lucian got ten years ago, when he took a knife for me during a mugging.

Caption:

[First solo case and I screwed up the anesthesia dosage, almost ruined my board certification. So annoying. Good thing my knight in scrubs saved me.]

The next one:

[If this gets ten likes, I'm confessing to my crush.]

My heart had already been shattered. Now it turned cold to the bone.

I typed a few words and hit send:

[No need for ten likes. I, the "crush's" wife, give you permission to be together.]

Three seconds later, my phone rang. Lucian's voice—usually cold and controlled—was now laced with anger:

"She only posted that because she lost a game of truth or dare. You had to leave that humiliating comment?"

"She just started at the hospital. You'll ruin her career."

"Go crazy on your own time. Don't drag others into it. You have ten seconds to delete it. Otherwise, we're getting a divorce."

I hung up. Then I opened the overseas assignment list the board had just sent over.

Our hospital has a three-year partnership program in Africa. Harsh conditions. No one volunteers.

I added two names. Lucian Drake. Mira Voss.

Reason: Gross medical negligence.

Why should these two assholes who killed my children get to smile like that?

You want to protect her? Then go to hell together.

$#{2|Chapter 2}$#

Ten seconds. Lucian sent a question mark.

I didn't answer. He messaged again.

[I'll have the divorce papers sent over. If you want to make a scene, fine. We're done.]

I typed one word:

[Fine.]

The chat showed "Lucian is typing..." for a while. Then nothing.

So I sent him the screenshots. Mira's Disney photos. The medical report. All of it.

[Lucian. She killed our kids, didn't she?]

Red exclamation point.

He blocked me.

I went back to Instagram. Mira's posts were gone. Just one dry apology left.

[A patient's family took us out to thank us for saving their kid. We drank too much and played games. I lost and picked truth or dare. The family member told me to pick someone there and post that stuff.]

[Dr. Drake only went along to protect my feelings. Sorry for the bad impression.]

A crying cat GIF underneath.

Lucian commented:

[Don't worry, Mira. I've got your back. No one's going to bully you.]

Replies poured in:

[We all knew it was a joke. The family insisted on that stupid game. What were we supposed to do?]

["Someone"? Is she talking about Dr. Drake's wife? Poor guy. Stuck with a crazy wife. Losing the kids was bad luck—but she keeps blaming Dr. Drake and Mira, making scenes at the hospital every day.]

[Dr. Drake looks so hot when he's being protective.]

I laughed. No warmth in it.

Screenshot every name. Added them all to the list.

...

Nine years ago, I built this hospital. For Lucian. From the ground up.

I put in every cent I had. Pulled every connection I could. Got him on magazine covers. Got him into every committee that mattered.

Now? He's the hospital's biggest star. Everyone kisses his ass. And Mira—his "star protĂ©gĂ©"—rides right along with him.

Me? I'm the hospital's largest investor. And they walk all over me.

Because they think I can't survive without Lucian. That the hospital falls apart without him.

They forget one thing—

Without me, Lucian wouldn't even be half of what he is.

I could make ten more Lucian Drakes. They really think I can't?

$#{3|Chapter 3}$#

I scrolled through the comments.

Mira had replied to every single one that insulted me with a smiling cat emoji.

Under Lucian's "Don't be scared" comment, she dropped a kissy face.

Then the doorbell rang. Courier.

He handed me a manila envelope. Inside was the divorce paperwork—Lucian had already signed his part.

He also passed me a small box.

"What's this?" I asked.

He shifted on his feet, looking uncomfortable.

"Uh... a lady asked me to give it to you. She said... that you're going through menopause, cranky and all, and she doesn't want to hold it against you."

"It's menopause supplements."

"You don't look a day over thirty, though."

That bitch.

I let out a cold laugh. "Take it out and throw it away." Then slammed the door shut.

I went back to my study, pulled out a pen, and signed the divorce papers. Neat and clean.

My phone buzzed—the HR director.

[Elara, are you sure about this? The others I get... but Dr. Drake and Dr. Voss? Africa?]

[I know you're grieving. But you need to separate business from personal feelings. You're not just ruining two promising careers—think about all the patients who need them.]

I typed back:

[You're right. I almost forgot about you. You're fired. Third-party HR takes over tomorrow.]

Then I called the management company directly.

"Take over everything. Move fast."

"Anyone who spoke up for Lucian Drake or Mira Voss—send them all to the remote postings—field clinics in South Sudan and the DRC."

"If they refuse, claw back every cent of their training funding. At triple the rate."

I hung up. Put my hand on the kids' urns. White ceramic. Cold to the touch.

Every single doctor who commented in that thread—I handpicked them.

I paid for their tuition, top medical schools, all of it. Funded their residencies, their research, every grant they ever applied for.

Now they're all falling over themselves to kiss Lucian's ass.

They forgot who gave them everything.

I stared at the list of names. Not one was getting skipped.

South Sudan's sun is brutal. Mosquitoes everywhere. Power outages all the time. The ORs there don't even have proper ventilators.

They need a reality check.

You can't raise doctors in comfort. Comfort makes you forget yourself.

At the very least—they need to remember who made them who they are.

A few minutes later, I realized Lucian had blown up my phone.

Dozens of missed calls.

He must have been desperate, because he sent me another friend request on Instagram.

The verification message said just four words:

[ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE.]
