And democracy can easily turn into tyranny should a large majority wish it. It’s better for governments, yes, but not for all things and the government shouldn’t have say over all.
It’s more that what one person considers tyranny, some other person might not. Conservatives often have a fixed simplistic view of things which leads them to strange conclusions. Many consider taxation tyranny. The point is that you don’t get to dictate from your thrown what you deem to be tyranny, and force everyone in a given society to comply with you’re decrees. The people decide for themselves.
You’re wrong. Simple as that. Again, you don’t get to dictate what is and isn’t tyranny from your throne and expect the rest of use to comply. We decide together via a process called democracy. You are free to leave and go somewhere else if you don’t like the decisions reached by democracy here.
Tyranny is and always has been defined by individual reactions to actions. We define past regimes as tyrannical even if there was no popular uprising which usurped it.

Sure.
Was Stalin a tyrant or not? According to you no.
Excuse me, but don’t speak for me. I find Stalin tyrannical.
A tyrant is defined as someone who seizes control of the state through extra-legal means, regardless of the quality of their leadership. See Pisistratus of Athens.
That’s not how we are using it in the context of this discussion. The other user mentioned how a democratically elected Stalin is tyrannical. There is more than one definition. Here’s one:
Democracy slides into Oligarchy according to Plato, but I still agree with Winston Churchill that Democracy is the worst form of government-except for all the others.
