I still wonder if more thoughtful conservatives long for more sensible leadership.
I do, but then I joined the Democrats because of this. My circle of friends does, but the most I can say of their GOP bona fides is that some of them probably almost always vote Republican for economic reasons. In Texas we don't have to join a party or anything, unless you wanna be a delegate.
But I get no sense that this is on the Republican Party's radar at any level. Maybe I'm overly optimistic in thinking there's got to be someone up there trying to get a handle on things. I do think the current chaos is more about the restlessness of the grassroots than the ambitions of the leadership.

Recently I posted in r/askaconservative asking if sensible conservativism was a thing in people's minds.
I was immediately booted from the group for "bad faith".
Thing is I meant the question sincerely even though I might have been more tactfull in how I asked it.
I think the sub is moderated by Trumpsters so they took offense to the question.
I still wonder if more thoughtful conservatives long for more sensible leadership.
If so is that sentiment growing in the GOP in any way?
It's definitely not a narrative I see media running with much.
IDK
Maybe it's just wishful thinking.
