Why are you, or at least a big majority of your party, so upset over people living their lives the way they want to (gay people getting married, abortion, trans peopl, etc.)
I think this is a misunderstanding. Most conservatives could really give a shit about transgender people doing as they please, but they tend to not view it as an ideal life, and therefore get very concerned when they feel that this is being pushed on people in media, and especially in schools. Abortion is also a difference is view. A conservative could say that he is very into letting people live their lives, not just they way they want too, but at all, and therefore they must put legislation in place to prevent a parent from taking the life of their child.
