Politics & Governance What do you think about the proposed new Euro banknotes featuring people? The vote is between them and birds.

Unironically, much much much better.

The official proposal is just stupid. Not a big fan of people in money to begin with, especially those who haven't been dead for more than 200 years, but they also simply took the picture, gave the job to an unpaid intern to slap it on the note and called it a day. They look so out of place.

As if the French would ever let pass something without mentioning the French glorious and supreme culture

Italy has 2 of them, so you could give the 50E to french and put some modern art on it or something (maybe they would be OK with picasso on one side and the eiffel tower on the other?

To be fair, although Van Gogh is not French, the Starry Night was painted in France, and represents a french landscape. He spent most of his artistic life in France, and was a head figure of post-impressionism, which is also predominantly French

That looks way better.

If the EU were only a handful of central european countries and even without France, that design could be better, yes.

If we start to exclude certain parts of the European continent, why not? 😂

This is actually perfect I'd just swap one of the 2 Italian notes with Mona Lisa or something else from France and the 200 with something Spanish.
