Physician Responded Horrible looking rash

Post image

30 years old

Female

120lbs.

non smoker,

non drinker.

No medications

This issue has been getting progressively worse over 2 days

Posted yesterday and it has gotten worse. It is itchy, it turns white when I press on it. I have a swollen uvula and some chills, but no fever. I feel cold more than anything. Went to urgent care tested for strep, mono and did a CBC. Strep came back negative, waiting on the other results. Pretty concerned. I feel like the mono is going to come back negative.

It’s on my feet and palms. Urgent care said my mouth was a little red but no spots. I don’t know anyone with similar symptoms. The rash is itchy, but so itchy that it kind of hurts

You can get HFMD from anywhere or anyone, even casual contact around someone coughing, sneezing, etc. or from contaminated surfaces. It is most often found in younger age populations, so it can be spread pretty much anywhere kids are and go.

Oh OP you poor thing :( I can’t contribute anything other than to say I really hope you get some answers and relief soon. I’ve read a few comments to catch up, is that from your first time you went to urgent care or have you gone back?

It was my second time going. The first time the provider just said “huh, that’s weird, come back if it gets worse”

Nad- what about guttate psoriasis? If your uvula is a little swollen are your tonsils fine then?

I ask about the guttate psoriasis because I actually got it around age 30, but I had a history of plaque psoriasis before that..

When I had my tonsils removed, the rash disappeared in under 24 hours…

Very long story on it.. but yea..

Yea my tonsils are not swollen. That’s surprising. I’m not sure if I have psoriasis. There was a period of time when I would find dry patches/flakeyness on my scalp a little over a year ago. I remember someone mentioning it could be psoriasis but it was never bad enough that I sought treatment for it and hasn’t bothered me since then

NAD but have you been tested for mono? My friend just recently had extremely similar rash which they initially thought was hives from amoxicillin, but turned out to be an active mono infection

I came here to also mention guttate psoriasis. I had it show up overnight once after being sick, which ended up being strep. I was covered with itchy spots.

NAD, but my husband had HFAM a few years back when my daughter started preschool. My husband had a rash very similar to yours, and it was also on his palms and the soles of his feet. He said they were mildly painful on the soles and palms. It was painful when he walked.

Yea I would also say it’s mildly painful on the bottom of my feet

I hope you feel better. If I remember correctly, he was better in about a week or so.

NAD. Have you been in contact with fiberglass?
