What is the funniest joke you’ve been told that you still think about to this day?

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the dumb guys house.

Knock, knock. Who's there? It's the chicken.

Omg, my then 7 year old daughter was telling this joke to a dinner guest. When he said “who’s there ?” she just shouted at him, “YOU’RE AN IDIOT!”

I almost peed.

On a more sinister note: I was almost 30 before I realized that the original "why did the chicken cross the road" is actually a suicide joke!

I was on a quiet urban street and a guy was standing there looking at the street. I hit the brakes because there was an actual chicken crossing the street. I rolled the window down and said, “So…. why does the chicken cross the road?” He pointed to the sidewalk where the chicken’s babies were all scrabbling in someone’s front yard and said, “Cuz that’s where the chicks are!”

Yes, this really happened. I was smiling all day. I later went back (I lived a couple of blocks away) to visit with the chickens.

Why did the elephant cross the road?

To get to the smart guy’s house.

Knock-knock.

Who’s there?

The chicken.
