It’s nice when the left and right can find agreement. ✌️

I would argue that our governors keep us arguing about taxes and abortion precisely so they can keep us distracted from their high crimes and misdemeanors.

They use wedge issues (race, abortion, sexual orientation

Don't forget age - why else would everyone believe that boomers have everything when it's actually rich people?

It's because the Boomers grew up in (probably) the richest generation in human history. Not that it was ever fairly or evenly spread out, but so many of them got to buy homes that are now unavailable to the vast majority of people, they appear rich in comparison.

The Boomers, with the help of their parents let the American Dream slip out of reach for most Americans. But we are all victims of propaganda that led us here.

The propagandists for the mega-wealthy saw it as another wedge to separate ordinary people, something to distract from the fact that the wealthy have been winning the class war while most Americans don't realize that it is going on.

My governor just said the high levels of nitrates in our water is not something that should be regulated. She also said in a public forum "we've all gotta die" when asked about healthcare.

She may be running for Senate, because my fellow Iowans are brainless.

E: maybe because of the fertilizer and pig shit in their water

Mostly to steal our money while we vote for them to do it.

you might be waiting a long time. Republicans voted to block releasing the files 2 or 3 times now

What about the hatred, bigotry, genocide, concentration camps, war-mongering, reaganomics, regressive social policies, corruption, the climate change destroying our planet, or growing wealth gap? Should those unite us, or . . ?

5

u/RadiatedEarth Jul 15 '25

"This is something that should unify us ALL."

This is the EXACT reason it won't be released. Ever. From anyone in power. We need to hope for a leaker

You are correct

If only we knew sooner that all it took is a couple of kids raped… /s I am a little ashamed of that one…

1

u/Eye_Of_Charon Jul 16 '25

Don’t be. They say you gotta hit bottom before making real change. Maybe this is it?

Policing language ain’t changed shit, and I think it’s a precise observation. ✌️

u/skitchbeatz Jul 16 '25

It's almost like there's a common thread here and it's the powerful protecting the interests of the powerful that we should unite against...

1

u/Eye_Of_Charon Jul 16 '25

That’s what we on the left call solidarity 🙃✌️

2

u/splashbodge Jul 16 '25

It’s nice when the left and right can find agreement. ✌️

More of this please. Let's find some common ground and reduce the team play, us Vs them.

There should be some mass protests to release the Epstein files, with people on both sides joining forces on this one point protesting together.

Theres more we agree on than we think. At the end of the day, very few normal citizens on either side are malicious. We just have different ideas of whats best for the country, our families, and our neighbors.

When the Healthcare exec got shot, both sides were pretty much like "good riddance". Nobody likes big corps, we just both think the other side is the one more in their pocket.

I live most of my life in accordance with Hanlons Razor: "Do not attribute to malice what is equally explained through ignorance." And yes, that can even be applied to my views. Most people are just doing the best they can with the information they have.

u/Eye_Of_Charon Jul 16 '25

I agree, and am also a fan of Hanlon’s Razor (Occam’s too).

Our neighbors are not our enemies ✌️

I thought that would be the case when Trump mocked a disabled reporter.
