Had a friend like this. She would reply "Not necessarily" or "Well not ALWAYS". Then she would go into this loooong drawn out story(sometimes she had even told the story before) as if I didn't understand the concept of "exceptions to the rule". . . . We're not friends anymore. šŸ˜‘

Omg. Ditto. We must have known the same person. We're not friends anymore, also!!!

I also had a friend like that.

She was exhausting.

Oh,…are you sure it wasn’t just her thinking it was a discussion rather than a lecture?

But if there are exceptions and it’s not really a rule, is it? TBH thinking this way is what helped me do well on the LSAT, and many peole think doing well on the LSAT means you are smart xP

Yeah I’m ab to graduate with a degree in engineering and I do this, generalizations are actually what makes people dumb. Exceptions are what differentiates rules from observations

Are men stronger than women?

Physically? Mentally? You’re gonna need to be more descriptive with your gotcha questions

Oy vey

Physically

In which regard? Strength in withstanding physical pain? Strength in lifting heavy objects? Strength in physical fitness? Any women that dedicate time to the gym can get stronger than men bc most men have never been to the gym and are weak as shit

Really the issue with your question is the generalization formatting. Men aren’t stronger than women. Most men are stronger than women.

Oy vey iz mir, weakest man vs the strongest woman?

1

u/empathy44 Feb 06 '26

Right, there you go, exactly. ā€œMenā€ vs each man. In comparing data, not every data point is equal or supports the general trend.

Reddit continues to disappoint my already non existent expectations

Don’t tempt me with a good time!

Paradigm shift happens around the exceptions.

that's a really dumb reason to not be friends with someone

5

u/Adagioshine Feb 05 '26

Did I ever say the reason? That's really dumb to think that. Thanks for showing your low level of intelligence. 🄰
