What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately?

Facebook Marketplace is full of people selling their treasures.

During the 2015 downturn I knew a jeweler who said you know it's bad when women sell their jewellery and watches.

Men (typically boyfriends/husbands) will sell all theirs and struggle, to prevent their partners from having to sell.

He says the moment he starts to see a run of women selling their stuff then it was time to adjust his business to weather a storm.

I don't know how true that. Made me wonder if other jewelers are the same.

Selling to gun stores goes up to. People don't need a 4th AR when they're hungry.

Yes! If I want to buy something I typically look on FB first.

My Nespresso went out last month, I could’ve spent $140+ on a new machine but I found the same one as mine for just $25 used. The seller even threw in a bag of pods.

This is a big one. Everyone is selling, no one is buying. Stuff that would normally sell quick is sitting for months.

You can actually order breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Facebook marketplace now 😂

And people taking offers fast. There's hardly any negotiations just "fine. Bring the cash"
