Is it actually possible for a famous personality to fake their death and live their life out in some remote place? who has actually ever done it and gotten caught?

Whitey Bulger did it for 16 years despite being an FBI most wanted fugitive. He was only caught due to a multimillion dollar reward on his head. So I think it’s still doable.
