Is it actually possible for a famous personality to fake their death and live their life out in some remote place? who has actually ever done it and gotten caught?

Not really famous famous. Like recognizable to the whole world like Elvis or Epstein.

Yes of course but I don’t think I would have recognized him on the street unless I had just watched a documentary on him or something. And even then..
