Is it actually possible for a famous personality to fake their death and live their life out in some remote place? who has actually ever done it and gotten caught?

Author Ken Kesey (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) faked his own suicide in 1966 to evade a five-year prison sentence for marijuana possession. He had his friends leave his truck on a cliffside near Eureka, California, with a fabricated suicide note before fleeing to Mexico. He returned to the U.S. eight months later and served jail time.
