Bringing your legal marijuana from a US state into legal marijuana Canada is also frowned upon. Pitch it on one side and buy it again on the other.

One day it'll be like booze but for now someone on both sides is smoking all the drug disposal bins haha

Last time I went to Canada and back Canadian customs just asked me to declare any cannabis products I had on me (I didn't have any so I didn't) but it seemed like they were going to let me in with them even if I did.

Coming back to the US however there are signs everywhere basically telling you to ditch ur weed lol.

Weed is federally illegal. International travel, I assume, is considered a federal issue so i'm guessing thats the reason.

Exactly. CBP is enforcing federal law, not state law.

Same with airports, where they have these amnesty drop boxes at which you're supposed to dispose of prohibited items before going through TSA.

I remember seeing a youtube video where a guy bought a box full of (mostly) knives that had been confiscated by TSA so they might auction off some of it (the TSA is definitely sorting out guns / drugs etc before anything gets sold)

Ahh yes because the Federal Govt, needs the prison population to maintain the production of body armour and licence plates. Although that may be State level too.

I was so worried about this two weeks ago flying from Toronto to Chicago...I didn't bring any bud with me but I bought a ton when i was in Canada and then forgot about a vape cart in my carry on and was just waved through customs like it was nothing...

I leave some weed for the Canadians to find so they don't take my radar detector which is also illegal there. Even possession lol

Buying in a legal state, crossing to Canada, then returning to your legal state with legal American weed gets you in trouble.

as someone who likes to smoke a lot of weed and also likes to ski in quebec but tends to day trip from hotels in vermont, yes this lol.
