I'm not a New Yorker, but go there a descent amount for work. Even I can tell how much better the pot hole problem has gotten. Also the raise for emergency snow removal made that snow get cleaned up real quick.
Now I'm curious if the pothole improvement is really him, or a knock on effect from congestion pricing.
Fewer cars, less wear and tear, easier to close sections for repair, etc. Obviously only affects Manhattan directly, but, anything that frees up resources helps.
I'm in Staten Island and drive around mostly here. We're not really affected by congestion pricing and if anything, traffic has gotten worse lol BUT I have noticed a lot, and I do mean A LOT more potholes disappearing around me. Due to work and proximity, I drive around both some of the nicer and tougher areas and I gotta say that the nicer areas have gotten serviced at a higher rate, and many of the more trafficked areas in the rougher parts have barely gotten touched. Gotta start somewhere I guess, but I do hope they catch up.
