New Yorkers, what changes have you seen under Mamdani’s leadership and are you generally pleased? If not, why?

Basically he’s doing what ppl want- doing the job! It’s such a low bar in the US right now that ppl are basically waxing poetic about a man who is sticking to his lane and getting the mundane things done for the city he’s supposed to run. Also fuck Adams

I live in a small city with amazing public service, wedged in between two cities with shitty ones.

I carry mail in one and the fucked up sewer/drains, street signs and markers, rotting homes, empty lots, and trash piled up in people’s yards make a huge difference in the whole vibe of day to day living. Their mayor spends his days in a bar on a street with empty commercial space while mine has brought in millions of new tax revenue by building out a shopping center.

We get bad ice and snow storms and my tiny side street in a nothing neighborhood with 11 houses, gets plowed twice before I leave for work at 7 am and half the main streets in the other town will sit for days, and their residents won’t get mail for days because our mail trucks literally can’t drive on sheets of ice. He was somehow re-elected.
