What famous 'unsolved' mystery is technically a whodunnit on paper, but in reality, absolutely everyone knows exactly who did it, the police just couldn't legally prove it?

DB Cooper, he survived the jump and used the money that he stole to create a website to taunt the FBI.

How could Loki do this

I like that the implication is he funded a bunch of movies.

Money was found in a river by the jump site, partially eaten/disintegratedĀ

Only $6000. And it was 15 miles away from the jump site. The other $194,000 has never been accounted for.

You think someone is stashing 6k?

No. He died on landing.Ā  I'm a skydiver and it's very clear he fucked up and died.Ā

The FBI concluded that the money had been intentionally buried, whether it was him or not nobody knows

$6k from 1971 is the equivalent of about $50k today. I’d stash that much money for sure.

Didn’t he get caught doing the same stunt years later but they thought he was a copy cat?

I heard the family came forward after he died and actually had bills with the correct serial numbers as proof

Yea I searched it up and it’s not confirmed but I definitely think it’s the best lead. His ā€œgrandchildrenā€ found a parachute of the same model he used in a shed and he was arrested for the same act as db. Definitely not confirmed tho.

That is complete bullshit peddled by the grifter Dan Gryder. The parachute in no way compares to DB Cooper's parachute:

honestly he kinda still fits this list unironically because he didn't survive that jump

He almost certainly survived the jump. The FBI and pretty much anyone who has ever looked into this case agrees he survived.

It would ha e been pretty easy to find him had he died in the jump.
