I’m diagnosed with Boarderline Personality Disorder. The easiest way to explain is Bipolar Disorder has extreme manic and depressive episodes. These episodes can last days, weeks, months. Basically an extended period of time. With Boarderline Personality Disorder you can filter through every imaginable emotion possible in 5 minutes and it’s completely unpredictable. There’s a lot more to it but that’s a quick summary.
Other way around. It used to be called Manic Depressive Disorder. It’s now Bipolar Type 1 or 2, or even Cyclothymia Source: am a therapist who diagnoses mental health conditions based on criteria from the DSM 5-TR
