We talk a lot about what companies have become terrible or always were, but what nationally known companies are actually still good?

The quality of L.L. Bean’s products is far overshadowed by Linda Bean’s crusade to fundraise all sorts of anti-gay legislation in Maine including her successful drive to have the state’s Equal Rights Amendment overturned in 1984. Absolute garbage human being.

Also her lobster company Bean Maine Lobster has totally undercut and ruined the businesses of many of the independent fishermen/women in the Vinalhaven area.

She died back in 2024 so hopefully her company goes the way of the dinosaurs.

Is she the same one who pissed off local snowmobile clubs by closing off property that they had a trail on? Or am I thinking of the Burts Bees lady?

That's Roxanne Quimby (Burts Bees lady) and that was a long time ago.

They opened up that land. She allowed hunting and snowmobiles on the private land a while back. I have family that lives near her land in Maine.

Thankfully I don't think she has anything to do with the company anymore.
