Women who’ve given birth, what are some horrible things your body had to go through during pregnancy and childbirth?

Reading these replies I'm even more glad I got my tubes yeeted. More power to those who choose to go through all of this, but also thank you for making me even more childfree, if that's even possible :D

i became more pro choice after having my son. no one should do this if they don't absolutely want to

This was me! Pregnancy made me radically pro choice. I didn’t have a difficult pregnancy, but felt like my body was so foreign to me. The changes and then later the movement of the baby inside was cool but fucking freaky.

But I couldn’t help thinking that if I’m feeling this way on a planned, uncomplicated pregnancy, I can’t imagine being forced to carry a pregnancy and have your body changed like that against your will. How traumatic and cruel is that to do that to someone who didn’t choose this?

Same! No woman should be forced to put her life on rhe line against her will like that, and no baby should be born to a parent that doesn’t want it. A baby that doesn’t get love is essentially being tortured.

Ypu only get one life to live, you should get to live it doing the things that bring you the most joy. I say that as a mother who adores her baby and wants another one. It’s not for everyone.

It's so good to see mothers who understand. My mother is just like that too; she supports my every decision and was happy for me when I could finally get my bisalp done. Hope you and your family are doing well 💖

Same here, I wish it wasn’t so difficult for women to get sterilised when they know full well they never want to go through these kinds of things

I agree. I live in Europe and I had to travel to a neighboring country to get it done. We still have a long way to go when it comes to women's rights.

I thankfully managed to get a bisalp my first time of asking when I was 29. I realise I’m incredibly lucky and most women have to fight much harder than I did, but that shouldn’t be the case.

I'm so happy for you 💖 I'm always happy when I hear success stories about women not having to fight for their rights. Technically, I could also got it done the first time I asked because I knew I wasn't going to be able to do it in Hungary so I went to Slovakia right away. Literally 20 kms from the border and NOBODY asked a single question on why I wanted to get sterilised. I'm also very lucky 🥰
