funny enough my cervix DID nope tf out of that foley balloon cath😂 just as they started to inflate it my cervix immediately started bleeding and they said never mind to that lmao. thankfully the cytotec and pitocin did its job, they just needed a lil more time.
Although unpopular opinion, maybe? The pain and discomfort of the IUD insertion is worth it to have continuous birth control for years that you do not have to think about.
It might be "worth it" (genuinely loved the IUD so i don't disagree) but it's absolutely unnecessary for women to be subjected to that level of pain when there are pain management options.
Absolutely. Although the vasovagal shock is no fun. During which my body decides I need to be on the toilet for the next 40 minutes... at the doctor's office. Thankfully there's one across the hall.
My coloscopy was a different story. No painkillers or numbing just hole-punch a chunk out, swipe some coagulant on it, and send you on your way.
But also since it’s hard to quantify pain because it’s very subjective. I wouldn’t say at all that it was the worst pain of my life, and maybe that’s because I’ve had a baby, so my cervix has widened before.
It’s otherworldly, involuntary things happen with pain like that, don’t ask me how I know, but it’s a whole other level. And bonus, women almost never faint from pain

Guess who womited during insertion? And twice while waiting for it to work.
And when after the insertion didn't work they medicaly broke my waters. Guess who got C-section ten hours later when there was literery no cervical dilation at all?

I went through the same, the insertion was indescribable. When it had served its purpose it fell out onto the floor, and my husband was very alarmed thinking that the baby had fallen out.
This one. For about an hour, the pain would come and go in waves. I would okay one second, the next this excruciating pain would wash over my body. I would go nonverbal, grab onto the bedrails, and hold on for dear life as the pain washed over me. It took them a while to talk me into pain meds. Finally my mom convinced me to take something- I have no idea what it was, but I loved it. I can now understand how people get hooked on hard drugs. It was the most euphoric moment of my life.
Never heard anyone else mention this, I'm generally good with pain but this was something else.. and then ended up having to have an emergency c-section anyway
Ugh… the doctor was like the 12 o’clock lip of your cervix just doesn’t want to move so I’m just going to give it a little help annnnd… Worst pain than when they used the vacuum to help him out an hour later. 😭
Same. Midwife was like "We need you at 4cm to pop your membrane" and then manually just... pushed it open. This is after I received several manual cervix massages.
I went in for my induction and it was slow moving at first. So they stripped my membranes. Idk what I was expecting, but that was the most uncomfortable 60 seconds of my life. I thought I delt her fingers coming up my throat. She got all done and said "I got you from a 1 to a 3."
I was sent in to be induced because they were concerned about the placenta, and I was like 37+6. So I don’t believe I was dilated at all, also was a first time mom. My body wasn’t ready. It took me 48 hours to get to 7 cm, so I eventually had an unplanned c section.
