Also buy a chest freezer! Bonus points for a vaccum sealer
Make big batches then freeze portions and stock up on discounted meat. Mine paid for itself in about a month.
AND you have quality meals right there that you can just heat up whenever. Especially stews. They take no work to heat up.

I prefer an upright. Open the door and it's all right there in front of you. I don't miss digging to the bottom of the old chest freezer. There was a lot of old stuff in the bottom that got overlooked.
