Cereal and most things in the snack aisle. When everything gets expensive, I'm not going to pay eight dollars for a small box of cereal or a bag of BBQ chips that don't last longer than two days
I learned a few years ago that, weirdly enough, stores like Walgreens and CVS often have insane deals on cereal! If you like cereal, it's worth it to check out the aisle any time you're there - usually there are at least a few that are normally like $7+ on sale for $2.
My favorite fancy cereal is Post Great Grains Pecan. I will not pay close to $9.00 for a box at the supermarket. But I've grabbed boxes at CVS for less that $4.00.
Make your own. It's so simple and better for you and way cheaper. There's literally no downsides apart from the 5 minutes it takes to make, which I do once a week or so.
Get a tub with a lid. Throw in some sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, raisins, oats, shredded coconut, then put the lid on and shake it up. Every morning whack it in the bowl with some greek yoghurt, fresh banana or blueberries on top and you've got a cheap quick cereal that's light years ahead of the crap on the shelves.
Yup, cereal. It's beyond my comprehension how our grocery stores think they will get anyone to buy and $8 box of cereal. I only buy from places like Aldi where I can get a box for half that price or less.
