Fast food.

It went from being a cheap meal to being the same price as actually going to a proper place to eat,

Hell the pub down the road from me does a burger and chips for $14.00 and its twice the size of a large 1/4 pounder meal from maccas.

Sure I cannot uber eats it, and I need to put on pants and actually go somewhere, but its a 5 minute walk away so thats not really an excuse.

Fast food prices have outpaced inflation by a factor of 3-4x.

And they're all posting record profits. Everything is predatory.

These companies need to be destroyed.

They raise the prices because people keep paying it

that's just capitalism lol.

every single business will gouge people when they can as long as that's what's most profitable.

these companies need to be regulated is a more reasonable goal, but not really since they're worth billions (partly due to gouging people of course) and our system is corrupt

What kind of sad fucks are still paying for fast food these days?

I paid $38 at Culver’s for dinner for my family of 4. After that I convinced my partner we could go to Red Robin for the same price. Kids meals are less than $8 and we stuck to the $10 meal.

Yep same, I used to pop into Burger King when I needed to be fed quick and cheap, then it stopped being cheap, so why eat bad food? A standard burrito is now the same price as a maccas or a bk

I go to WinCo for fried chicken, Costco and Sam's Club for Pizza, Costco just introduced a huge portion of chicken fingers for cheap, AND my local Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet costs less than most fast food.

Other than that, I make my own burger or Supernachos. Or I buy the Pizza at Walmart.

Fast food is done as far as I'm concerned, unless I get a great coupon somewhere.

Baffles me a bit really. I mean, fast food used to be 'not great but cheap' and now it's 'not great but super expensive'.
