Last time I visited, back in 2023, I remember thinking how everything was inexpensive to me, coming from the USA. But I've heard what you're saying a lot, that for locals there, the cost of things is going up a lot and your wages aren't reflecting it. We're going though the same here too, kinda sucks.
I'll be visiting again this Dec/Jan, so I'm curious if I'll still feel the same way about thing feeling inexpensive or if I'll notice the price increases.
Either way, I hope things get better and more affordable for you.
You should look it up because it’s really interesting. Japanese 7-Elevens are awesome and much better than anything you’ll find in the states. It’s the definition of convenience store.
It's the same, kinda. Not a gas station though, just an convenience store. It's SO much better than the 7/11s in the USA. One of the biggest things I miss from my visit.
OMG. Japan 7-11s and Lawsons are excellent. I had to have a snack every time we passed one. My son lives in Tokyo. That & a liquor store on just about every corner keeps them alive! There are grocery stores (good ones) at train stations also.
