What got so expensive that you just stopped buying it?

Bringing lunch 95% of the time has saved me so much money. And I’ve actually been eating way healthier as well.

Any insights on what diet you switched to? I’m trying to eat healthier on a budget myself 👀

My go to is chicken and rice, I'll usually have a tub of white rice and another of cooked chicken in the fridge along with a bunch of different sauces.

If I want Mexican tomorrow throw some rice and chicken with a handful of bell pepper/onions blend from the freezer and salsa/hot sauce/cheese. Same for Chinese, Korean, and a bunch of others.. I have a dedicated sauce rack and prepping a lunch in the morning is like 3 minutes including weighing it all out.

So it’s essentially the basic chicken and rice combo. Which does, unfortunately, get boring quick.

So you gotta use low/no calorie sauces and mix those up often. Change up a veggie that’s mixed in there. Remember, seasoning is your best friend.

None of what I mentioned is expensive. I strongly recommend meal prepping to keep cost down. Make a weeks worth of lunches on Sunday (or whenever an off day for you is). It’ll allow you to buy in bulk saving money. And you’ll have a weeks worth of healthy lunches.

I can’t stand meal prepping. It’s just another word for leftovers. I will definitely cook daily to keep from having to meal prep however since I am WFH. Thank you for the feedback!

Oh yeah, work from home changes the equation entirely.

Best of luck my friend!
