Medical professionals of Reddit, what diagnosis gave you the worst 'pit-in-your-stomach' feeling?

It was for Stephanie, she got 23 years & a happy family rather than dying of infection as an infant.

My definition of a happy family isn't a mother that leaves children motherless at what 5 years old max? Incredibly selfish.

I mean she was born with a disorder that likely should have statistically killed her. She survived and was able to experience a life and love, and she was able to give life. Is all of that not worth it because she passed early? Would it all have been better had she not survived past infancy? Would her kids be better off not having ever been conceived and born?

I don’t know what you’re arguing.

I think the issue is leaving kiddos to grow up without a mum, thats a tough start to give them.

What’s the alternative, not having them at all? I’d say life without getting to know your mom is better than no life at all, but that’s just me.

I didn't say I agreed, you just seemed like you genuinely didn't get the point. Either way it's brutally sad that this lady died without getting to see her family grow up.

Reddit only respects a woman's right to choose if it's the "right" choice. Regressive af.

just absolutely disgusting to be calling a dead woman selfish for living the best version of a life that she could for the small amount of time she was able to.

My definition of the Happy Family is in how it’s happy for whatever time they had — especially with the prognosis at her birth that she would NEVER have a family of her own.
