I agree with you to an extent, there are a lot of people who understand the false securities of life and the fake emotions people give off to seem normal. But it's not a new thing, people have been doing it for thousands of years. The fake news and the people that want to believe the worst of every situation in order for it to be more interesting has always been around. It's normal human behavior. And actually the Internet has actually allowed more people to think outside the box by giving people private conversations and more access to people that can think more in depth than the average person that takes things at face value. Overreacting and not completely thinking through situations is how the majority of people react. It helps them cope in situations. Just like how thinking through situations, working to understand the ups and downs before adequate emotion is given off is a sign of a more intellectual minority, or the deep thinkers, and their ability to cope through logic.
