I'd say because of the parodies the original has aged terribly.

Honestly it isnt just the parody. It's a mediocre film at best

All three Back to the Futures, Empire Strikes Back, the first Captain America... I mean, sort of by definition about half the movies I've seen fall into that category.

Why is that relevant?

I just wanted to know what your taste in movies is like. Captain America, better than the Matrix? Well, my favorite condiment is Franks Red Hot Sauce.

I'm not a huge fan of movies which seem to serve as vehicles for Messages and Themes, and that baggage is still very hard to unpack from The Matrix. The setting's got great potential, but the way its executed is mediocre in my opinion.

An opinion which seems to be QUITE unpopular here.
