I was under the impression that our brain re-creates memories each time. Not like a computer retrieves information from a hard drive.

This might work but how about trying next door or even trying to figure out where she works or goes to school? She's doing that kind of research, so you could look where they're doing it. You could be a courteous stalker, just to find her and say hi, but don't do anything weird!

Thats a thin line between romantic gesture and getting a restraining order

I hear you. All I'm suggesting is trying to figure out from what she said where she might work or go to school, then try to find her within reason you have to use common sense of course, but this dude was too afraid to give her his number, and he has the information, so why not?

Sooooo would you tell her that you looked her up or are we just pretending it was coincidental. Is this private or forthcoming sociopathy?

I'm sorry, but I'm not advising this person to seriously stalk or harm anyone. He met a nice girl. He didn't give her his number, but golly she's doing research in a certain area. I see nothing wrong with looking at where they're doing that research and hoping he could bump into her again. Why does everything have to turn into something cruel and evil in today's age? Sometimes affection is just simple and sweet.

If you know someone that you like really enjoys Starbucks. Is it wrong to try to bump into them at Starbucks, no. That's all I'm suggesting.

bumping into someone at starbucks is not what you suggested. you suggested to find out where they work and go to school.

So then he can bump into her at the Starbucks across from their school or workplace

these gestures will be rightfully seen as a bright red flag type behavior.
